The Construction Rig is a unit that can create a number of immobile structures for defence and logistics purposes. Both the CCA and the NSDF have their own unique designs, but function otherwise identically to each other.

There are also a number of structures that exist in various parts of the game, and are sometimes a part of the storyline, but are not a part of the standard build menus. They will be discussed at the end.

Power Plant (S-Power, L-Power, W-Power)[edit]

The power plant provides power in a 250 meter radius. This power is used by only two structures - the gun tower and the comm tower. This makes power plants inviting targets for players looking to shut down a defensive network built around gun towers, which are far more powerful than the Badger or Pak turrets.

Although the official description states they only work on certain planets, all three power plant types are identical and function regardless of location (Lightning and Wind power plants can work on the moon, just as solar power is equally effective on Venus and Mars).

Of the power plants, the wind power plant has the least amount of health while presenting a considerable target.

Gun Tower[edit]

Gun towers are powerful defensive structures that are actually immobile units. As the game considers them to be units and not structures, they can be repaired by the armoury. As long as they are within range of a power plant, however, they do not require ammunition to fire.

NSDF gun towers are exceptionally powerful in that they are equipped with the powerful Blast Cannon, which cannot be dodged. This powerful default weapon can be completely neutered by using your armoury to give a weaker weapon to the gun tower, removing its offensive power.

The CCA gun towers, by contrast, are equipped with the same weapons used by the Pak turret, making them faster-firing, but generally less intimidating. Both forms of gun towers, however, have a considerable DPS, so ideally it is best to attack them from range using a bomber, or using APCs which have the health to stand up to them long enough to deploy troops.

Comm Tower[edit]

The comm tower, when powered, provides access to the Satellite view, which is essentially a birds-eye minimap view of the entire battlefield. Using this view reveals your position to enemy players, making it a risky proposition in multiplayer. However, the ability to command units remotely and direct them to specific points outside your field of vision makes it useful for synchronizing attacks.

Barracks[edit]

When built, the Barracks simply provides new pilots. Most games have a limit to the number of barracks you can build, thus limiting the number of units that can be fielded. The barracks will also spawn pilots to take over unmanned vehicles that are nearby.

Scrap Silo[edit]

This structure is a drop-off point for scavengers. Rather than have scavengers travel all the way back to the recycler, a nearby scrap silo can improve your economy by having your scavengers make shorter trips. It also improves the total amount of scrap you can store, though typically you will want to keep converting scrap into units rather than hoard it all yourself.

Supply Depot[edit]

This structure automatically rearms nearby friendly units. Building this in the field, and then having a nav beacon nearby, means you can either hold a certain position much easier, or have a fallback point for expended units.

Hangar[edit]

This structure automatically repairs nearby friendly units. Building this in the field, and then having a nav beacon nearby, means you can either hold a certain position much easier, or have a fallback point for damaged units.

Other Structures[edit]

The following structures are not a part of the typical construction menu, but appear oftentimes in other contexts.

Launch pads are the largest structures in the game, and function only as targets in the campaign. It is described as a site where personnel can enter or leave the surface of a planetary body and go to their mothership, which is never shown in-game.

Shield generators are an unfinished structure that appears only in the sandbox mission. It was intended that they would create a fence of sorts to keep enemy units out, but this structure never made it into the game. The game code itself contradicts this idea by instead creating an invisible force field around the structure, like the M-Curtain mine.

Cafeterias, according to the official description, upgrade your infantry to heavy infantry. This structure seems to have no effect on any infantry at all, including those sent out by the APC.

The Command Tower is another structure which appears primarily in the campaign as an objective. The official description suggests that it was meant to activate an artillery strike while powered, but this functionality is not in the game.
