The Seiken Densetsu (聖剣伝説? lit. "Holy Sword Legend") series is developed and published by Square Enix (formerly Squaresoft and Enix). The original Seiken Densetsu was renamed Final Fantasy Adventure, Seiken Densetsu 2 was renamed Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3 was renamed Trials of Mana when it was finally localized to the US as part of Collection of Mana (there are numerous English translations of the ROM, which generally refer to the game as Seiken Densetsu 3).
Trials of Mana was the first video game ever to be translated in English by fans.
Secret of Evermore is the only title developed in the USA instead of in Japan. It is just loosely related to the Mana series. The lead programmer declared in an interview: "We were, simply put, to make an American-flavored Secret-of-Mana-like game".[1]
World of Mana was a commercial process to revive the series. It includes four games released within one year (spring 2006 - spring 2007), as well as other media.
