DD Stage 3 Map.png

Once Bin and Pin have reappeared on the screen you shall have to make them start walking to the right (while watching out for a pit at the bottom of the screen), and drop down onto a step as four Sausage Dogs come bouncing towards them; once you have punched all four of these to kill them, you shall have to jump up onto another step and collect a Rock for twelve shots of it. Once you have done so, you will have to continue walking to the right as five more Sausage Dogs come bouncing towards you - and once you have thrown a rock at (or just punched) each of them to kill them, you will have to walk up and right (if you are the player who didn't collect that Rock earlier), to collect a Missile Launcher that is hidden behind a stone for twenty-four shots of it. Once you've done this, you'll have to continue walking to the right, as you come to a Mortar Coyote who is launching grenades at you; once you have thrown a rock (or fired a missile) at him to kill him, fourteen more Sausage Dogs will come bouncing towards you. Once you have thrown a rock at each of the first three, then punched each of the remaining eleven (or fired a missile at all fourteen of them) to kill them, you will (if you are the player who did not collect the Missile Launcher earlier) have to walk down and collect a pair of Bombs for twelve shots of them - and you then have to continue walking to the right and open a treasure chest that's hidden behind a "DANGER" sign for 1000 extra points. Once you've done so you shall have to walk up and to the right over a bridge, while watching out for a second pit at the screen's bottom, as you come up to four Boxing Alligators who are spitting "RARR"s at you; once you've thrown a bomb (or fired a missile) at all of them to kill them the second one will leave a piece of cake behind (which will restore four bits of your energy). Once you've collected it, you will have to continue walking to the right as you come to two more Mortar Coyotes who are launching grenades at you - and once you have thrown a bomb (or fired a missile) at both of them to kill them, you shall have to continue walking to the right over another bridge as you come up to three Missile Wolves, six more Boxing Alligators and a fourth Mortar Coyote firing off missiles (which can be blocked by a bomb or missile, or a super-punch if you're an expert player!), spitting "RARR"s and launching grenades at you. Once you have thrown a bomb at six of them (or fired a missile at four of them) then punched each of the remaining four (or six, if you are the player who collected that Missile Launcher earlier) to kill them you will have to walk down and collect a large hamburger (which will restore eight bits of your energy); once you have done so, you will have to continue walking to the right as three Mining Moles pop out of the ground. Once you have punched each of these to kill them, the third one will leave a small hamburger behind (which will, again, restore four bits of your energy) - and once you have collected it you will have to either walk up an eight-step staircase, to open two more treasure chests for 10 more extra points apiece, and down another eight-step staircase, or continue walking right and collect a Rocket Launcher for sixteen shots of it. If you chose the latter, you will come to three more Missile Wolves who are firing missiles at you; once you've fired a rocket at (or just punched) each of them to kill them, a Springing Rabbit will come springing towards you. Once you have fired rocket at (or just punched) him to kill him, he'll leave a cake behind (which will again restore eight bits of your energy) - and once you have collected it, you shall have to walk down and open two more treasure chests for 5000 more extra points apiece. Regardless of which path you chose, you will then have to continue walking to the right as you come to two more Boxing Alligators who are spitting "RARR"s at you; once you've fired a rocket at (or just punched) both of them to kill them, the game's first "boss" theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a fourth time as the stage's mini-boss, Boulder Man, slowly walks into view from the right side of the screen, but what he lacks in speed, he more than makes up for in size and power.

DD Boulder Man.png

Once Boulder Man has seen Bin and Pin (although he does not have eyes), he will attack by spitting flames (although he does not have a mouth either) at them; if they should hit them while they are holding the Rocket Launcher, they shall (as with any other weapon after any other hit) drop it and have to collect it again (he can also reach down and punch them if they're too close to him!). Once you've fired all ten remaining rockets at either of his feet and punched either of them fourteen more times, he shall collapse and burn away - and the stage's main theme will then start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 again. You will then have to walk up or down to the top or bottom of the road to determine which path you want to take, then continue walking to the right to confirm your choice (and the path you did not choose will, once again, be blocked off by a construction barrier that can't be jumped over); for those of you who chose the upper path (which is recommended for novice players) you will have to continue walking to the right and collect another Missile Launcher that's hidden behind another stone for twenty-four shots of it. Once you do it sixteen Screw Mooses will come bouncing towards you - and once you've fired a missile at (or just punched) each of them to kill them you'll have to (if you are the player who didn't collect the Missile Launcher earlier) walk down to collect another pair of Bombs for twelve shots of them. Once you've done so, you will have to walk up and open a fourth treasure chest for 1000 more extra points; once you have done so, you shall have to continue walking to the right as eight more Screw Mooses come bouncing towards you. Once you have fired a missile (or thrown a bomb) at each of them to kill them, the twentieth one will leave a small hot dog behind (which will, once again, restore four bits of your energy) - and, once you've collected it, you will have to continue walking to the right over a third bridge (while watching out for third pit at the bottom of the screen) as you come up to two more Mortar Coyotes who are launching grenades at you. Once you have thrown a bomb at (or just punched) both of them to kill them two more Sausage Dogs will come bouncing towards you; once you've thrown a bomb at both of them (or just punched them) to kill them you will have to walk up and back to the left to open a fifth treasure chest that is hidden behind a third stone for 10 more extra points. Once you have done so, you will have to walk back down and continue walking to the right over a fourth bridge as you come to two more Mortar Coyotes who are launching grenades at you - and once you've thrown a bomb at (or just punched) both of them to kill them, you will have to walk up and back to the left to open a sixth treasure chest that is hidden behind a fourth stone for 10000 more extra points. Once you have done so, you shall have to walk back down and continue walking to the right as you come up to three more Missile Wolves and six more Boxing Alligators who are firing missiles and spitting "RARR"s at you; once you have punched each of them to kill them, the seventh Missile Wolf will leave a large hot dog behind (which shall, once again, restore eight bits of your energy) - and once you've collected it you will have to continue walking to the right and collect a fifth Bomb for six shots of it. Once you've done this, you have to continue walking right, as you come to where the lower path ends.

DD Stage 3 Lower Path.png

If, however, you chose the lower path (which is only recommended for expert players), you will have to continue walking to the right down a ramp as you come up to a thirteenth Boxing Alligator who is spitting "RARR"s at you; once you have punched him to kill him you shall have to continue walking to the right and collect a Flamethrower for fifty shots of it (although it will decrease by one for every two seconds of non-use), as you come to four more Boxing Alligators who are spitting "RARR"s at you. Once you've flamed (or just punched) each of them to kill them, you will have to continue walking to the right down another ramp as you come to three more Boxing Alligators who are spitting "RARR"s at you - and once you have flamed (or just punched) each of these to kill them, thirteen more Mining Moles will pop out of the ground. Once you have flamed (or just punched) each of these to kill them, the fifteenth one shall leave a small hot dog behind (which shall yet again restore four bits of your energy); once you have collected it, you will have to (if you are the player who did not collect the Flamethrower earlier) collect a Machine Gun for fifty shots of it. Once you have done so you will have to walk up and open a fourth treasure chest for 10000 more extra points - and once you have done so you will have to continue walking to the right as six more Mining Moles pop out of the ground. Once you have flamed (or fired a bullet at) each of them to kill them, you will come to another small hamburger (which shall, for a fifth time, restore four bits of your energy); once you have collected it you will have to continue walking to the right up a third ramp as ten more Sausage Dogs come bouncing towards you. Once you have flamed (or fired a bullet at) each of them to kill them you will come to three more Missile Wolves who are firing missiles at you - and once you have flamed (or fired a bullet at) each of these to kill them, the seventh one will leave another large hamburger behind (which will, for a sixth time, restore four bits of your energy). Once you've collected it, you have to continue walking to the right up a fourth ramp as you come to where the upper path ends; although this path is shorter than that one, it has more Boxing Alligators and Mining Moles to contend with.

DD Fire Ring.png

Regardless of which path you chose, you'll now have to continue walking to the right as five more Sausage Dogs and three (more, if you took the upper path) Screw Mooses come bouncing towards you; once you have flamed (or fired a bullet at, or just punched) each of them to kill them, you will have to drop down onto a fourth step (while watching out for a third, or fourth if you'd took the upper path, pit at the bottom of the screen). Once you've done so you'll have to jump onto a fifth step, as you come to three more Missile Wolves who are firing missiles at you - and once you've flamed (or fired a bullet at, or just punched) each of these to kill them, you'll have to drop down onto a sixth step. Once you have done so, a fourth (twenty-third, if you took the lower path) Mining Mole will pop out of the ground; once you have fired a bullet at (or just punched) him to kill him you will have to jump onto a seventh step as you come to three more Missile Wolves who are firing missiles at you. Once you've fired a bullet at (or just punched) each of these to kill them, they will leave will leave a second (third, if you took the lower path) small hamburger, a second small hot dog, and another piece of cake behind (which will all, for a seventh time, restore four bits of your energy) - and once you've collected them all, two more Sausage Dogs shall come bouncing towards you. Once you've fired a bullet at (or just punched) both of them to kill them a fifth (twenty-fourth, if you took the lower path) Mining Mole will pop out of the ground; once you've fired a bullet at (or punched) him to kill him, you have to walk up and open a seventh (fifth, if you took the lower path) treasure chest for 10 more extra points. Once you have done this, you shall have to continue walking to the right, while watching out for a sprinkler that has just opened up at the bottom of the road and is firing jets of lava at you - and once you have done so, you will have to walk up and open an eighth (sixth, if you took the lower path) treasure chest, for 5000 more extra points. Once you've done so, you will have to continue walking to the right while watching out for another sprinkler that has just opened up at the bottom of the road and is firing jets of lava at you; once you have done so, you will come to two Water Cannons. Once you have collected one of them each, the game's first "boss" theme shall start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for a fifth time as the stage's boss, Fire Ring, rolls into view from the right side of the screen - and once Fire Ring reaches the centre of the screen it shall rotate anticlockwise on its X-axis while firing miniaturized versions of Fireball at Bin and Pin. If they should hit them they will (as with any other weapon after any other hit) drop them and have to pick them up again; it shall then roll around the screen (in an anticlockwise direction) before repeating its pattern again. Once you've fired a burst of water at all twelve of its flames to put them out, it shall collapse and a door will appear in the centre of the screen - and Bin and Pin shall then walk through it and be warped to Stage 4, which takes place in Chicago (but it is changed to Brooklyn in the SMS version).
