Missions concerning the Life Seed are covered here along with a few unrelated missions.

Mission: Beat Erol in Race Challenge[edit]

Location: Haven City

Follow the martini glass icon to the Hip Hog and go in.

Cutscene: "Krew Makes A Threat"
Krew wants you to throw the championship race, but despite Krew's argument that it will be both fun and profitable to disappoint your fans, you're not interested. Krew hints that your attitude isn't good for your health, but Erol is there and says it's just fine with him. In fact he can't wait for the official race and challenges you to a street race there and then.

The route takes you through the southern gardens to the bazaar, then around the palace and the statue of Mar, through the canal in the mall, north into downtown, and finally follows the river to the stadium gates. There aren't any shortcuts this time, it's cornering skill and course memorization that will get you through. There are pedestrians who may get in the way, but fortunately the KG take the day off.

To get off to a good start, jump to the right as you cross the bridge after the first ring, this will line you up well for the second ring. Take it easy in the bazaar because there are more turns and the streets are narrow. You need to jump to get over the railing into the canal at the mall. Go carefully again in the alley going downtown, and be prepared for a right turn and another jump to get to the river. The biggest mistake you can make, other than crashing, is to miss a ring, so keep half an eye on the city map to plan ahead.

When you win there is a short cutscene ("Erol Hates To Lose") where Erol vows to get even in the championship race.

Mission: Destroy Eggs in Strip Mine[edit]

Location: Strip Mine

Follow the lightning bolt icon to the power station and go in.

Cutscene: "Good News and Bad News"
Vin says eco supplies are stable and it looks like the city shields will hold for the time being. But he's detected Metal Head eggs at the strip mine. You recall seeing a large container which just might do the trick if you can drop it on them.

Take the warp portal to the Strip Mine. You may notice the eggs in question on the right as you enter. Start up the same obstacle course you used to reach the second well in the previous mission here, but now continue on up the hill. The route is linear and while it's faster to do it on the JET-Board, it usually much safer to go on foot. The exceptions are where you're forced to grind on rails or make long jumps. You must go on the JET-Board for the final jump off the ledge to the cable supporting the container. There is a short cutscene ("The Big Crush") when you reach it where container drops as planned, though the aftermath is a bit awkward.

Mission: Get Life Seed in Dead Town[edit]

Location: Dead Town

Soon after completing Erol's challenge you hear Samos saying he left something valuable in his hut in Dead Town. You must go there are retrieve it. Follow the old building the Dead Town gate and go though. If you're collecting Orbs then now is a good time to take a spin around the area on the JET-Board since there are quite a few lurking on the water, usually under buildings.

Locate the Titan suit under the golden beam of light to the left. Most of the mission is done using it so you'll need to know something about its abilities. First, though you are very strong in it, your ability to fight is reduced because you have just one attack which only works on enemies right in front of you. Metal Heads will try to jump on top of you and will drain your suit's health until you can shake them off somehow. So it's best to defeat enemies before they have a chance to do this; fortunately you can do this in one hit with the suit, if you time it well. Barriers you can break down with the suit are shown with a target and there are plenty of other hints given by the game as you go.

Start by breaking down three walls and defeating the Metals Heads behind the first two. Use the suit to push the block to the base of the ledge, then hop onto it to reach the top of the ledge. The next Metal Head is tricky to deal with in the suit, so just get out for minute, shoot the Metal Head, and get back in. Break another barrier, then move another block into position to get to the top of a wall. Get out again scout the route ahead for more Metal Heads, then get back in and follow the top of the wall to reach a third block. Use this to get to the top of a higher wall, there is a Metal that will snipe at you here but you should be alright if you keep moving.

Follow the top of the wall to a pillar and use the suit to knock it down. Get out of the suit to defeat the sniper, then continue over the pillar to another block. This time pick up, carry if back to the end of the pillar, and throw it at another pillar to make it fall and form a bridge. This takes you to another throwable block which you can use to break through a wall on the other side of a gap. Hop over and locate a final column to knock down, forming a bridge to Samos' hut.

Cutscene: "Old Memories"
You collect the seed and the voice of Old Samos explains that he left it here before going through the rift gate. The Metal Heads were attracted to it, which explains why they've appeared here in previous missions. Old Samos says you need to take it Young Samos in Onin's Tent to give him wisdom. This is a bit confusing to Daxter, but then he realizes that Samos should be grateful that he helped to get the seed.

It should be easy to get back to the start on the JET-Board, but make sure not to land in the water surrounding Samos' hut since there is no way out from there.

Mission: Protect Samos in Haven Forest[edit]

Location: Haven Forest

Follow the tent icon to Onin's tent and go in.

Cutscene: "Pecker Picks a Fight"
Pecker is in a particularly bad mood but you give Onin the seed anyway. Daxter and Pecker start to argue then fight. You break it up and by this time the seed is ready. Now you need to take it to Haven Forest to give to Samos.

Follow the mountain icon to the Mountain Temple gate, then get to Haven Forest as in earlier missions. Look for Samon under a golden beam of light in the southwest part of the area. There is a short cutscene ("Samos And The Seed") where you give Samos the seed only to have the KG crash the party. You must now protect Samos while he communes with the seed.

While this isn't technically an escort mission since you don't actually go anywhere, it is in principle. The KG will come from two directions on foot and occasionally by air. Use the Vulcan on the ground troops since you should get the ammo back in drops, but since you have the Peace Maker now try using it against the flying KG since it takes them out in one shot and you don't need to take a lot of time to aim. With this im mind, if you stay close to Samos and keep checking all the routes the KG may use to attack you should get to the end.

There is a short cutscene ("The Vision") where Samos gives you an urgent, hair-on-fire warning that the Baron is planning to destroy the Precursor Stone, but that will cause the total destruction of the Earth.

Mission: Destroy Drill Platform Tower[edit]

Location: Drill Platform

Follow the lightning bolt icon to the power station and go in.

Cutscene: "The Boy Is Missing"
Kor is disappointed at the Baron getting the stone, not only that but it seems that the Baron has captured the Kid as well. Now Kor thinks that you could disrupt the Baron's plans by destroying the control tower at the Drill Platform.

Use the warp gate to get to the Drill Platform. There is a Titan suit nearby so get in. Break through the door there; this is a metal door, not one of the flimsy doors in Dead Town, so it takes three hits to clear it. Take the elevator down to a room, time your way through the lasers to the next door. There is another laser here so you need to approach and hit three times while the laser is off.

In the next room, cross the bridge then park the Titan suit on the square in the corner and get out. Now go back and hop the two collapsing ledges on the left, and jump up to a higher ledge. Spin kick the switch to raise the Titan suit, then get in again and break down the next door.

Hop over more collapsing ledges and time your way past bridges with flame on top to get through the next room. Get out of the suit to defeat some Metal Heads further on. Roll jump over the gaps and kick the two switches in the passage, then get back in the suit and hop over the gaps using the spatula shaped ledges as stepping stones.

Time your way through the lasers in the next room, and over the flaming bridges in the next, to reach another door to break down. Behind this is an elevator to the control room which is your destination. There are several Metal Heads here and they might be tricky to deal with in the Titan suit, but they shouldn't be too bad if you've been careful with your suit's health so far. Use the suit to smash the 10 control panels here and an overload will begin.

You now have 1'35" to get out before it blows. (There is a checkpoint as you exit the elevator and from there you have 1'15" to get out.) All the doors have been opened so it's a matter of platforming your way through the obstacles quickly. Don't worry about taking a little damage if it means saving some time since the priority is time here. Note that the time to escape includes the time it takes to ride the elevator out, so you need to reach the elevator door with 10 to 15 seconds to spare.

If you make it in time there is a very short cutscene ("The Control Tower Blows") showing the top blowing off the control tower.
