Once Captain Carnage and Major Mayhem have reappeared on the screen, you shall have to walk up to collect an ID tag to the left of a flagpole (which has the text "CHECKPOINT #3" below it) with a larger US flag for an extra life; once you have done so, you will have to walk back down and to the right as four indestructible jets fly past from the right side of the screen while firing missiles at you. An eight-wheeled truck with a SCUD on its back shall now come rolling into view from the right side of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at it to set it alight, you will have to walk down to pick up another map of Kookistan. Once you have done so, the full view of the map (which now has a top view of this mission to its right as opposed to the first one, given that it is now finished) will come into view from the right side of the screen again, and the following text will appear in the black box to its left:

The texts "PAINFUL EXPERIENCE AWAITS YOU HERE" and "THE ROAD LEADS HERE" shall also flash up at the top and bottom of the mission's top view, along with "PRESS START TO CONTINUE" at the bottom of the screen; once you have pressed either Start Button to continue it, a load of jewels and American flags will appear on the left side of the screen. Once you have collected all these, two more trucks (one eight-wheeled with a SCUD on its back, the other six-wheeled and firing shots at you from its cannon) will come rolling into view from the right side of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at both of them to set them alight a flaming green-trousered gunner shall jump out of the six-wheeled one. Once you've fired a shot at him to kill him, you shall have to walk up and rescue two more hostages (both players' counts of which will have been reset to "00"); once you have done so, you will have to walk back down and to the right, as a total of thirty-seven more trucks (thirty-four six-wheeled and firing shots at you from their cannons, three eight-wheeled with SCUDs on their backs) come rolling into view from the right side of the screen (a load of American flags will also appear on the left side of the screen, and there are also nine more hostages to rescue, four more keys which will always be present to collect and fifteen land mines to avoid standing on). Once you have fired enough shots at the last six-wheeled truck to set it alight, the text "DESTROYED: XX" (XX being the number of trucks destroyed) will appear under both players' HUDs - and if all forty trucks were destroyed the text "ALL VEHICHLES DESTROYED! 25000 BONUS POINTS AND FREE MAN AWARDED!" shall appear on the screen (the misspelling of "vehicles" is also accurate, and if your soldier has nine lives, he'll not receive an extra one) with the text "TRUCKS ESCAPED: 0" below it. However, if even one truck managed to escape before you could destroy it, the text "SCUD DESTRUCTION BONUS. X000 POINTS AWARDED!" (X000 is ranging from 1000 to 5000, and determined by how many trucks destroyed) will appear on the screen instead with the text "TRUCKS ESCAPED: XX" (XX being the number of trucks that escaped) below it; in either case, the text "WAVE WINNER. BONUS: 2500" will appear under the HUD of the player who had destroyed the most trucks and another load of jewels and American flags will appear on the right side of the screen. Once you've collected them all, you shall have to walk up as a troop of green-trousered gunners comes running down towards you from the top of the screen while firing shots at you - and once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them a load of purple jewels will appear on the left side of the screen. Once you have collected them all, six electric land mines will appear in the top-left, top-right and centre of the screen (four of them on top of four more regular ones, and they're just as lethal to stand on), as two troops of red-suited axe-wielders jump out of two trap doors on its left and right sides and come running down towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them you shall come to the gates of General Akhboob's Baby Milk Factory which have the text "DROP BOMB HERE" flashing up below them. Once you have dropped a bomb by the gates to destroy them, you'll have to walk up through them and collect a fifth key (which will, again, always be present) as two more electric land mines appear on top of two more regular ones on the screen's left side - and once you've done so, you will have to collect six Smash T.V. gift-wrapped prizes and another ID tag to the left of another flagpole (which has the text "CHECKPOINT #4" below it) with a larger US flag on it for another extra life.

You will then come to four parked green jeeps on the left side of the screen (which will electrify you if you touch them); once you have fired enough shots at each of them to destroy them, they'll reveal four more keys (which will once again always be present). Once you have collected them all, you will have to walk to the right, and rescue five more hostages (while watching for two barrels) - and once you've done so, another troop of green-trousered gunners shall come running down towards you from the top of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a third troop of red-suited axe-wielders shall jump out of a third trap door on the right side of the screen, and come running down towards you; once you have fired a shot at all of them to kill them, you will have to walk to the right, and rescue four more hostages (while watching out for six more barrels, but once they have exploded, they will reveal a tenth key that'll yet again always be present). Once you've collected it (while watching out for a ninth electric land mine which has appeared on top of a twenty-second regular one), you shall come to two more barrels on the left side of the screen - and once they have exploded, they will reveal an eleventh key (which will, for a fifth time, always be present). Once you've collected it a third troop of green-trousered gunners will come running down towards you from the top of the screen; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them (while watching out for a tenth electric land mine that has appeared on top of a twenty-third regular one), a red mutant will come leaping down towards you from the top of the screen, while spitting toxic waste at you. Once you've fired a shot at him to kill him, you will have to walk up and rescue three more hostages (while watching out for four more barrels which are worth a secret bonus when destroyed) - and once you've done so, you'll have to walk to the right and rescue three more hostages. The text "FLESH FEAST! SUPER BONUS WARP COMING!" will now appear on the screen as a box in its top-right corner explodes and a green-trousered flamethrower emerges from it; once you've fired enough shots at him to kill him, a load of time bombs shall be dropped from above, and two more loads of jewels and American flags will also appear at the bottom and top of the screen. Once you have collected them all, another load of American flags will appear at the top of the screen as troops of ochre-trousered flamethrowers come walking towards you from all four of its sides while shooting flames at you (a load of blue jewels will also appear at the top of the screen) - and once you've fired enough shots at all of them to kill them, the text "WAVE WINNER. BONUS: 2500" will appear under the HUD of the player who killed the most flamethrowers as a blue-and-magenta warp disc appears in the centre of the screen.

You can now either walk over to the blue-and-magenta warp disc to be warped to a fourth bonus area or pass it up and walk to the right as two magenta mutants (and a troop of blue-trousered gunners) come leaping (and running) towards you from the right side of the screen while spitting toxic waste (and firing shots) at you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, six more boxes at the top and bottom of the screen will explode and six more green-trousered flamethrowers shall emerge from them. Once you've fired enough shots at all of them to kill them, you'll have to walk up and to the right as two more mutants (one magenta, the other purple), and another troop of blue-trousered gunners, come leaping (and running) down towards you from the top of the screen, while spitting toxic waste (and firing shots) at you. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them (there are also four moving land mines at the top and bottom of the screen, along with the text "MISSILE STRIKE ALL JETS" in the centre of it), six more boxes at the bottom of the screen will explode, and six more green-trousered flamethrowers shall emerge from them - and once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them you'll come to a parked jet at the top of the screen. Once you have missile-struck it to set it alight, you shall have to continue walking up and to the right as you come to a total of eight more parked jets (there are also twenty-eight more hostages to rescue, ten more keys to collect and an uncountable amount of additional moving land mines, three of which are electric, to avoid standing on); once you've missile-struck the last parked jet and set it alight, you shall have to walk to the left and up to collect three more keys (which will for a sixth time always be present) as you come to two loads of red spider eggs (which are worth a bonus when collected, so you'll have to collect as many of them as possible before they hatch). Once the remaining eggs have hatched you will have to walk to the right as the red spiders they contained come jumping towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, four more indestructible jets will fly past from the left side of the screen while firing missiles at you. You will then have to walk up to collect a twenty-fifth key (which will for an seventh time always be present, and while watching out for three more barrels); once you have done so, you will have to walk back down and to the right to collect a third ID tag to the left of a third flagpole (which has the text "CHECKPOINT #5" below it) with a larger US flag for a third extra life. You can then either walk to the right towards another blue-and-magenta warp disc (there is also a third load of red spider eggs to its right, so you again have to collect as many as you can before they hatch and you have to warp to the fifth bonus area), or pass it up and walk up.

As you walk up, you shall come to two more parked green jeeps in the centre of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at both of them to destroy them (there's also a twenty-fourth static land mine on the left side of the screen) you will have to walk to the right and rescue three more hostages (while watching out for two more barrels). You'll now have to walk back to the left to collect two more keys (which will for an eighth time always be present) and rescue three more hostages - and once you've done so, you'll have to walk up, as a fourteenth electric land mine appears on top of a twenty-fifth regular one in the centre of the screen, and a third troop of blue-trousered gunners comes running down towards you from the top of it. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them you'll have to walk to the right and up to collect two more keys (which will for a ninth time always be present); once you have done so, a fourth troop of red-suited axe-wielders will jump out of a fourth trap door on the right side of the screen and come running down towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you can either walk to the left (avoiding a twenty-sixth static land mine on the screen's left side) onto a third blue-and-magenta warp disc (and warp to a sixth bonus area) or pass it up and walk up - and you'll then come to a fourth load of red spider eggs (which are, once again, worth a bonus when collected so you shall for a third time have to collect as many of them as possible before they hatch).

Once the remaining eggs have hatched, the red spiders they contained will come jumping down towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them (there is also a twenty-seventh static land mine on the right side of the screen), you will come to a fifth load of red spider eggs (there are also four more keys which shall for a tenth time always be present, hidden in the entrance of the hangar to their left). Once the remaining eggs have hatched, the red spiders they contained will come jumping towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them (there is also a twenty-eighth static land mine at the top of the screen), you'll have to walk to the right and rescue three more hostages (while watching out for six more barrels). Once you've done so, a third load of American flags shall appear in the centre of the screen; once you've collected them all, troops of flaming green-trousered gunners will come running towards you from the left side, right side and bottom of the screen as troops of red-trousered gunners jump over the fence at the top of the screen, are immediately set alight and come running towards you (six more jeeps will also drive out of the hangar on the screen's left side as more time bombs are dropped from above, more groups of red spiders and two more green-trousered flamethrowers come jumping, and walking, up towards you from the bottom of the screen, and eight more loads of jewels and American flags shall also appear). Once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, the text "WAVE WINNER. BONUS: 2500" will appear under the HUD of the player who killed the most enemies - and you will then have to walk to the right as you come up to a tenth parked jet on the right side of the screen. Once you've missile-struck it to set it alight, you shall have to walk up to collect a thirty-fourth key (which shall for an eleventh time always be present, and there are also four more barrels and a fifth electric land mine on the left side of the screen); once you have done so, you will have to walk to the right to collect four more keys, which will for a twelfth time always be present, and are hidden in the entrance of another hangar on the screen's right side (while watching for two more barrels). A group of larger, black-and-yellow spiders will then come running down towards you from the top of the screen - and once you've fired enough shots at each of these to kill them, they'll explode into more loads of red spider eggs (which you will yet again have to collect before they hatch). Both of the soldiers will then be surrounded by troops of ochre-trousered flamethrowers from all four sides of the screen, as the text of "YOU HAVE BEEN CAPTURED! THERE IS NO ESCAPE! SUBMIT TO THE PAIN!" appears in its centre; the game shall then proceed onto the electric chair as General Akhboob comes up and says:

The text "TAP BUTTON TO ESCAPE" will then appear on the screen as both soldiers are dropped into a chair on their side of it; two strength meters will then come down into view on the left and right sides of the screen as a gigawatts meter comes down into view in its centre. Both players must now press their Start Buttons as rapidly as they can to prevent their strength from being completely drained - and if either player's strength has not been completely drained by the time the gigawatts meter has reached 60000, their soldier will break free and the text "YOU HAVE ESCAPED" will appear on their side of the screen. However, if either player's strength has been completely drained by then, their soldier shall become a fried skeleton, as the text "NICE TRY" appears instead, and their game will immediately end regardless of how many lives they have remaining (unless they choose to continue); the game will then return to the battlefield (where the last six barrels and electric land mine have been restored) as text "GREED FEST! GRAB MOST OF THE GEMS FOR DOUBLE SCORE BONUS!" shall now appear on the screen as eight loads of jewels and American flags appear for a short period of time, so you'll have to collect as many of them as you can before they disappear. The screen shall then cut back to the United States Military Headquarters as the text "UNITED NATIONS INCOMING TRANSMISSION" appears on it - and the text of "TOTAL SCORE" shall now be displayed at the top of the screen, with both players' current scores on either side of it (if only one player's playing, the inactive player's side will display the text "JOIN IN! HELP!"), with the text of "BONUS SCORE" below it and both players' bonus scores on either side of it. Both players will now receive 60 points for every flag they collected, 40 points for every jewel they collected, and 100 points for every hostage they rescued, as the text of "COLLECTION BONUS" flashes at the bottom of the screen; both players' statistics shall then be displayed on the screen to either side of the texts "SHOTS FIRED", "ENEMY HITS", "HIT PERCENTAGE", "WEAPONS PICKED UP", "BOMBS USED", "MISSILE STRIKES", "BIG STUFF DESTROYED", "EXTRA MEN COLLECTED", "MINES STEPPED ON" and "KEYS COLLECTED" but also "HOSTAGES NOT RESCUED" as the text of "GAME STATISTICS" flashes up below it. A picture of the soldier with the higher total score shall then appear on the screen with the text of "PLAYER ONE/TWO IS GREAT!" below it - and the text "YOU HAVE SURVIVED THIS FAR. I AM IMPRESSED. CAN YOU LAST TO SEE THE SHOCKING CONCLUSION?" shall now appear before the game proceeds to Mission 3.

Bonus areas[edit]

On warping to a bonus area, its name, warp code, difficulty and advice will be displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen; time bombs will also be dropped into them from above, and you will have to collect them before they explode (for every one you collect, the text "DISARMED" will appear on the screen). Once you have killed all the enemies, a blue-and-magenta warp disc which will return you to the main battlefield will appear in the centre of the screen - and if you do not make use of it immediately the text "EXIT THIS AREA!" shall appear on the screen as an uncollectable time bomb is dropped from above then counts down from 9 seconds. Once you have returned to the main battlefield, the text "TOTAL COMBINED KEYS: XX" (XX being both players' combined amount of keys) will appear on the screen - and in Bonus Keys! the text "DESTROY MOST OF THESE JEEPS AND YOUR SCORE WILL BE DOUBLED!" will appear on the screen. 90 jeeps will now come rolling down and up towards you from the top and bottom of the screen (these ones will not fire at you); once you have destroyed the last one (or it has gone), the text "DESTROYED: XX" (XX being the number of jeeps destroyed) will appear under both players' HUDs as the text "JEEP DESTRUCTION BONUS: X000 AND BONUS KEYS AWARDED!" appears in the centre of the screen (X000 being between 1000 and 9000, and is determined by how many jeeps have been destroyed) with "JEEPS ESCAPED: XX" (XX being the number of undestroyed jeeps) below it. In Reactor Interior, a load of hostages will come running down towards the soldiers from the top of the screen - and you'll again have to rescue as many of them as possible before the uncollectable time bomb gets dropped (six more loads of jewels and American flags will also appear during the area). Bonus Keys! also has barrels to shoot, but all three of the mission's bonus areas also have land mines to avoid.
