Total Carnage/Passwords

At the start of the first mission, walking over to that red-and-white warp disc on the right side of the screen causes the text "PASSWORDS ARE FOUND THROUGHOUT THE GAME. DO YOU HAVE ONE?" will appear on the screen with "NO" and "YES" below it; push either joystick down to select "YES", then press your Start Button to confirm your choice. You'll then have twenty seconds to enter a four-letter warp code, by using your left joystick to move the highlighter arrow and your right one (or Start Button) to change the letter - and once all four letters are correct, you will have to move the highlighter arrow onto "END" and press your Start Button to warp your soldier (and the other player's in a two-player game) to the point specified by the password:

Entering any other four-letter code will cost you a life, and cause the warp disc to disappear; the text of the "Akhboob-escaped" ending is also as follows:

You have destroyed Akhboob's army and his ability to create more mutant life forms. You wrecked his Bio-Nuclear facility, airport, communications system, weapons arsenal, and his military vehicles.

You also saved hundreds of hostages and recovered billions of dollars worth of stolen gems. That is great news!

However, you allowed General Akhboob to escape!

Being the DUFUS you are, you also failed to collect the 220 keys required to join other game heroes in the Midway Pleasure Domes. This is not good.

The misspellings of "doofus" and "Akhboob" are also accurate; the text "GAME OVER" shall then appear on the screen before the game goes into high-score mode. However, even if you do allow General Akhboob to escape, your scores will still most likely be the two highest ones on the cabinet to date, and it is also worth noting that if you use the "ZULU" warp code, you will receive a "Weasel Warp Bonus" of 40000 points, 50 hostages, flags and gems, and 10 keys - and, if you use the "ORCS" warp code, you receive an "Orcus Warp Bonus" of 50000 points, 100 hostages, flags and gems, and 10 keys.
