Tables[edit]
If you read the page on tables in the guide it explains how to add columns and rows, but leave a message here or on my talk page if you need more help. For now, here's something you can copy/paste from edit mode. (You'll probably want to delete it from here after you're done using it.) By the way, there's no need to blank pages you're working on. Hi again. Please read the guide to see how we use lists and headings. I've made some changes to the Skills page, such as putting lists into list format, instead of having blank lines between each item, and adjusting the headings. Also, please don't remove the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} templates – those are needed on every guide page. Thanks, and keep up the good work. - najzereT 21:40, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Najzere! I'm really sorry! I didn't know how to put the lists into list format. I used spaces because when I put them down as regular lists, they would all run together and I didn't know how to fix it. I will definitley try to follow your example! It looks so much better with your help! I'm really sorry about that! I will look up the lists like you said to. Thanks for your patience!! :)P.S.- I see what you mean about the {Header Nav} and {Footer Nav} Does that mean I have to start a new page, with the {Footer Nav} being at the bottom like that- or can I just insert the rest of my information in before the {Footer Nav} and still leave the {Footer Nav} at the bottom of the page? - Footer Navs are always the very last thing on any guide page. The only exception is front pages (where the game is introduced) since the Table of Contents is included from there. If you create a new page, all you have to do is click on the "Guide page" button, and the Header Nav and Footer Nav will automatically be inserted for you. Then you can continue to insert as much text as you like between them. Procyon 00:01, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Hello! I think I need a little help..[edit]
Hi! I think I may need a little help. I put in a {prettytable} and added |float=right to it. That worked okay. The only problem is that I can't get the title of the Table Centred. I am working under Sims 3 walkthrough/ Skills. Down toward the bottom of the page is the table I am talking about. I think the table off to the right might be okay? But I don't know how to center it's "title" over it. I really wanted the 2 tables side by side next to each other (narrow) on the page, but not on top of each other. I just don't understand how to center the title of the headings over the one chart. I hope it is okay. - I put the tables side by side, which can be seen here. I'm not sure that's the look you were going for though. I added captions and the
notwideparameter to the tables, the first of which you can read about on the advanced tables page, and the latter on on the {{prettytable}} page. To get page content in columns, you can use the {{col}} template. Lastly, signing in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~) or the
button in the toolbar above the edit text box automatically inserts your signature and the current timestamp, so there's no reason to added another signature and date after it. Both your signature and how timestamps are formatted for you can be modified in your preferences. Hope that helps! - najzereT 10:31, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

I really appreciate all the help you've given me here. :) I am done editing the skills page, and that's all I needed to do? Just leave the page the way it is? I didn't know if the last table I put in was too long across, but since you fixed it and it is the last of the page it's okay? I will do what you said about the four tildes. - The page looks really good, thanks for all the info. I don't know if you know this, but The Sims 3 is actually our Collaboration of the Month, so you've been a big help. As far as the page goes, it could use a little introductory paragraph at the top, just explaining in general what Skills are all about in The Sims 3, but other than that I think the page looks good. Hi Najzere! Okay, I will put a paragraph at the top explaining what the Skills are about. I did not know that Sims 3 was the Collaboration of the Month, it's really good to know, Thank You! Tables vs. lists[edit]
The reason the Trait List was changed is because tables shouldn't be used to format page elements. We already have list elements (* and #), so those are the preferred method. — najzereT 18:59, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

- No problem, there's a lot to learn! It was actually DrBob who originally changed it to lists, but if you ever want to see who's doing what on a page, you can check the page history by clicking the History tab at the top of the page. — najzereT 18:00, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
