Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Gameplaya300! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Procyon 02:54, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

You don't need to sign your userpage, unless you want to. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:49, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Image categorization[edit]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. [[Category:Game Name images]]. Please see our image policy for more details. Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! Paco (talk) 12:19, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Please take your time and read the rules once again and add Pics according to rules. You uploaded pics without giving proper Names and even didn't bother to categozitation it either. Take a look at other Games pages to see how its build up and click on one random pic to see how its named and which categories it has. You learn alot if you do that. A few pointers[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to the site, Gameplaya; they're much appreciated. ^_^ However, I'd like to give you some tips to help you become an even better contributor in the future. Firstly, never use "I" when writing a guide. Second and third-person are okay, but you'll never see first-person writing in the guides on StrategyWiki, since it's a collaborative project; anyone can jump into a guide and improve on it. Secondly, I've noticed that in your work on the Paper Mario guide, you explain what goes on in a cutscene. While it's okay to explain the story every once in a while, it's definitely not necessary; SW guides focus on getting through the game, not documenting the story of it. You never have to go so in-depth when explaining a cutscene. Giving a brief description of it would be sufficient enough. And last, but not least: button images. There's no need to write out the plain-text phrase "press A" when you can use a template like {{3ds|A}} to make an image of the button appear like so: A button Pretty snazzy, if I do say so myself. There's a template for every system (for example, {{ds|A}}), so feel free to use the button images whenever you need them. That's all I've got for now. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask, and thanks again for your contributions. ^_^ --WarioTalk 21:42, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Easier editing[edit]

The Show preview button (right next to the Save page button) lets you see how your changes will look before saving the page. You can use Show preview as many times as you like until you get the page how you want it. You can also edit the whole page at one time, as opposed to by section, by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the page. Hopefully these little shortcuts will make it easier for you to get the desired result when you're editing, and save you a little time. Thanks for working on the wiki! — Procyon 05:16, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Also do us a favor... please just add normal edit summaries like everyone else on the site does. It's really not asking too much for you to put a normal description instead of "ggggggfd" all the time, and if you used Show Preview properly, you wouldn't have to add more than one description.
