The ending you will get at the end of the game depends on three choices you will have to make, namely:
- After the battle in Zopart Valley in Chapter 3, you can choose to "Make Amends" or "Excuses" to Adele. If you choose the first option, Adele might survive, if you choose the second, she won't. Even if you make amends, Adele can still die, in fact she will only live if both Clive and Yuri also survive, but if you make excuses, she will surely die.
- After the battle in Lugusta Ruin in Chapter 4, you can choose to tell Clive "I'll protect her" or "You protect her", referring to Rosaly. If you choose the first option, Clive will die, if you choose the second he will live.
- If you enter Natra Palace in Chapter 4 with the Vandal Hearts Sword (V-Hearts), Yuri will live. If you don't, Yuri will die.
Note: during the prologue, Nicola will ask you what you really want in life (the possible answers are 1-Live Freely, 2-Make a Girl Happy, 3-Become the King, 4-I don't know). This can be misleading and make you think that your answer will change the ending of the game, but in reality it doesn't.
Although you always have to make three choices, one after the other, there are essentially four endings that can be obtained (one good, two mediocre and one very bad). At most there can be a variant in which a character who survived is mentioned. The ending part before the credits will always be the same regardless of your choices, the variations only occur after the credits. When the "END" screen appears you will notice four circles in the bottom right, which correspond to the game's endings. Every time you play and get a different ending, the corresponding circle will light up. If you get a 100% Weapon Find, you will get an extra scene where the hero returns the Vandal Hearts sword and you will have a chance to unlock Advanced Mode. By finishing the game in Advanced Mode you will also get a congratulatory message from the developers.
Below are the possible endings and the choices you need to make to get each of them.
Ending Variation A[edit]
It's the best ending of the game. Adele is queen of Natra and works to stabilize peace on the Rognant continent, while the hero has become premier and her lover. To get this ending, follow these steps:
- "Make Amends" to Adele after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "You protect her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter Natra Palace with the V-Hearts Sword
Ending Variation B[edit]
In this ending the hero became Polata's new major, married Rosaly and is about to have a child with her. To get this ending, there are three ways:
First way:
- "Make Amends" to Adele after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "I'll Protect Her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter Natra Palace without the V-Hearts Sword
Second way:
- "Make Amends" to Adele after after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "I'll Protect Her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter the Yuri battle with the V-Hearts Sword
In these two cases Adele commits suicide before the final battles.
Third way:
- "Make Excuses" to Adele after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "I'll Protect Her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter Natra Palace with the V-Hearts Sword
In this case you have to fight and kill Adele in the first of the final battles, together with Mahler.
Ending Variation C[edit]
The hero visits Adele's grave, exchanges a few words with Clive and Rosaly, who are now married, then leaves on horseback, probably resuming his wild life. To get this ending, there are two ways:
First way:
- "Make Amends" to Adele after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "You Protect Her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter Natra Palace without the V-Hearts Sword
Second way:
- "Make Excuses" to Adele Adele after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "You protect her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter Natra Palace with the V-Hearts Sword
In both cases you have to fight and kill Adele in the first of the final battles, together with Mahler.
Ending Variation D[edit]
It's the worst ending. All your friends are dead and the hero has become a devious tyrant emperor. Adele’s ghost appears and looks at him disconsolately. To get this ending, follow these steps:
- "Make Excuses" to Adele after battle in Zopart Valley
- Tell Clive "I'll Protect Her" after battle in Lugusta Ruin
- Enter Natra Palace without the V-Hearts Sword
You have to fight and kill Adele in the first of the final battles, together with Mahler.
