Rosace Hill[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 250 G
Items:

  • Hint-1 - V22, H22 (hidden)

The first battle of the game is obviously very simple and perfect for getting familiar with the game system. There are only three enemies to defeat, namely three Gigaslugs. You will have the hero, Yuri and Clive, all with the same weapon. The terrain has no large elevations or obstacles. One of your attacks will be almost enough to defeat one of the enemies, while they cause minimal damage. You should win this battle in a heartbeat. There is also an item to collect, but it is hidden in the ground. To be able to get it you will have to come back here later, when you have the Searchmark skill.

Mastha Canyon[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 500 G
Items:

  • Hint-2 - V20, H10 (chest)
  • Mallet (special weapon) - V1, H0 (chest)

Another very easy battle. Before entering it, you have the opportunity to start shopping and to upgrade and customize your equipment. You can also sell your previous weapons, which you will no longer need. To find all the hidden items in the game, it is advisable to immediately purchase the two daggers Bowie and Antennae and assign them to one of the characters, in order to learn the skills Unlock and Searchmark, to open the chests, and to find the items hidden in the ground, respectively. For the rest you can choose the equipment you prefer, given the great ease of the fight. You have the terrain strongly to your advantage in this battle. In addition to Yuri and Clive you will control also Rosaly. She is equipped with a bow that allows her to hit enemies at great distances and cause massive damage (you can't change her equipment). There are only four enemies, all of which are very easy to defeat. The only attack that can cause you some damage is the Darkbird's B.Flare, which it can only use once anyway. To learn the skills of your new weapons faster, remember to always attack, even if there are no enemies nearby. You will thus earn the same skill points. If instead you just wait, you won't earn anything. This is a technique that you will have to use constantly throughout the game. If you manage to learn the Unlock skill, you can also open the two chests there. Unfortunately, they are far from your initial position and it takes time to reach them. It may be necessary to keep an enemy alive and try to lure him towards one of your characters (by moving him before the enemy attacks him), in order to prolong the fight until your character with the Unlock ability reaches the chests. This is also a strategy that you will have to use several times throughout the game. Unfortunately, you still can't buy a Wing Armor to get to the chests more easily.

Yuta Plain West[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 800 G
Items:

  • Hint-3 - V0, H11 (hidden)
  • Boots (accessory) - V15, H9 (hidden)
  • B-light (bow) - V15, H23 (chest)

There isn't much to say about this battle and it doesn't present any real difficulty. There are only four enemies, all of a type you've encountered before, and the terrain presents no particular pitfalls or obstacles. You should win the fight without any problems. In this battlefield you can find three items, but in order to get the Boots you must be equipped with a Wing Armor, because they are inside a stream. To get them you will therefore have to return here later, when it will be possible to buy this type of armor.

Yuta Plain East[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 1800 G
Items:

  • Hint-4 – V3, H14 (hidden)
  • Goblin (shield) – V4, H5 (chest)
  • Goblin (shield) - V14, H21 (chest)

Another very simple battle. There are only four enemies, none of them dangerous or new. The land is practically all flat. The biggest obstacle is the ferns, which characters wearing heavy armor cannot enter. However, some enemies will also be limited in movement. Since there are three items to collect, also considering the ease of the fight, you should dedicate one of your characters exclusively to this task. Goblin Shields are indeed very useful, due to their Recovermark skill.

Note: Between this battle and the next, Nicola will ask you a question. You can answer him however you want: your answer won't affect the plot and it DOES NOT affect the game ending you get.

Danjou Forest[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 2400 G
Items:

  • Novacula (dagger) – V0, H14 (hidden)
  • Pinwheel (special weapon) – V0, H23 (chest)

Here you will no longer have Rosaly with you, but in return Nicola will join your party (you cannot change his equipment). You will meet the usual enemies. There are only four of them and they shouldn't bother you. Here the terrain has more relief, but this is not a difficulty. You should therefore win the fight without any problems. There is a special weapon that you can find in a chest in the corner, but in order to get the dagger you will have to return to this battlefield later when you have the Blockmake skill, as it is hidden very high up.

Kutao Mountain[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero or of Nicola
Basic reward: 2800 G
Items:

  • Map 12 – V11, H11 (hidden)
  • Urn (special weapon) - V6, H11 (chest)

Another easy battle. The terrain here is at your disadvantage, as you will be faced with a hill, however none of the four enemies present have long-range physical attacks, so this will not create problems for you. Among the enemies is an Eggworm, which can deal decent damage with its Thunder Wave attack, so be careful. However, it can only use it twice and its physical attack is very weak. There are two items to collect in this battlefield, on top of the mountain. You need to wear a Simple Armor to reach them. Otherwise, if you come back here later with a Wing Armor, everything will be easier.

Byron Manor (sewers)[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat all enemies
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 3000 G
Items:

  • Bullion (accesory) - V13, H16 (hidden)
  • Cutlass (sword) - V14, H28 (chest)
  • Halbert (axe) - V15, H5 (chest)

You no longer have helpers here, but there are only three enemies. Their physical attack is not very powerful, but it could poison you. Better then to have a C-potion or two. Also rats have an annoying habit of walking away and healing themselves if you don't kill them within the same turn. However, they shouldn't cause you any problems. The terrain doesn't have much relief, although it does have large areas of water, where you can't go. Note: to reach the Bullion you must be equipped at least with a Simple Armor, because it is on a rise and with Heavy Armor or a Robe you won't have enough mobility.

Byron Manor (inside)[edit]

Victory condition: Defeat Kossimo
Defeat condition: Death of the hero
Basic reward: 0 G
Items:

  • Herb (item) – V4, H9 (hidden)

The last battle of the prologue is a one-on-one duel between the hero and Lord Kossimo, possessed by Godard. You are in a small room without any particular obstacles with your opponent. Kossimo never moves from his starting position. He continues to attack you with Dark Circle, with which he can hit anywhere in the room. This is not a problem - just keep moving. Reach Kossimo and quickly hit him from behind. With just two attacks you will eliminate him, maybe even only one if you have a good weapon. There is a hidden item to collect in this room, but it's a banal herb that you can also overlook. After winning this very simple battle, the prologue of the game will end. Note: This is one of the few areas in the game that you cannot return to later.
