Secret cave[edit]

Willow starts in the south-west loop and will exit from the north-east. Willow's bright sprite highlights passageways.

After the Eborsisk has been defeated, the chest blocking the "secret" cave east of Tir Asleen castle will disappear. Willow can travel all the way to an exit in the canyon maze.

There is a chest with a shield in the cave.

Path to Nockmaar[edit]

Willow starts in the south-west (a resting location is just south) and will end at the castle in the north-east.
Po's ocarina allows to return near the castle, at the spot marked by Willow's sprite.

After the Eborsisk has been defeated, the chest blocking the way in the canyon maze will disappear.

Remember that cliff faces can be defeated with the Thunder spell.

Once Willow reaches the castle, Po's magic ocarina allows to fly just below the gate of Nockmaar.

In order to enter the castle, Willow should use one spell on the guard.

Outer castle of Nockmaar[edit]

Willow starts at the center of this map, on the north side of the ground floor.
Willow's bright sprite highlights passageways.

Explore the castle at leisure (and earn experience points), but the only thing to do right now is to talk to Abang of the Eagle clan. He is in the south-west corner of the ground floor. The Eagle clansman will give strength to the wing sword, then he will say that a woman near Tir Asleen has the key to open the castle doors.

If Willow goes back to the top of rocky mountain, he will find that the old woman moved away. She is now in a house in Tir Asleen. Look for her: the door seems closed, but you just have to walk into it.

Once you find the old woman and receive the Nockmaar key, call Po with the ocarina and fly back to Nockmaar castle.

The three basement rooms of Nockmaar castle.

Inner castle of Nockmaar[edit]

Willow's bright sprite highlights passageways.

Check the map of the outer castle (previous section), and notice that there are five locked doors: two on the ground floor and three on the first floor. In particular, out of the ground floor doors, one leads to an empty basement and the other one is still locked. On the first floor, the two doors closer to the stairs make Willow drop back to the ground floor; take the northmost door.

Explore all the second floor before you enter any door: if you pick the wrong one, Willow will plummet two floors down. The right one is quite obviously the door with the two characters and the cutscene.

After speaking with Madmartigan and Sorsha, Willow learns that the Crest of the Gods is in the basement. The door on the ground floor that was still locked is now open, but the chest inside is empty. Go back to the second floor and through the northmost door.

  • General Kael

He is a very aggressive warrior, but Willow's shield can block his sword slashes.

His weakness is his asymmetric attack: if Willow stays at an angle, Kael's slashes will miss, and you can simply tap the attack button until victory.

Bavmorda's tower[edit]

Willow starts in the bottom-right corner of the map above.

After beating Kael, Willow should climb the tower to reach queen Bavmorda. Enemies are few and far between. In case Willow needs to replenish magic points, he can backtrack to lower floors and defeat some ethereal enemies.

It is important that Willow is at least at level 14 with full magic points before he engages Bavmorda.

  • Queen Bavmorda, first form

She is only vulnerable to Cherlindrea's magic Cane, powered-up by Fin Raziel. Shoot only when Bavmorda is coming towards Willow, to be sure you hit. Also, wait an instant between shots, because Bavmorda gets invincible for a second after every hit she receives. In fact, the Nelwyn's magic points are quite limited.

  • Queen Bavmorda, second form

Extremely easy and anti-climatic. Just slash at her with the Wing Sword until defeated.

Enjoy the ending and the game credits.
