Pokémon Gold and Silver/Vermilion City

Vermilion is the first city that you will find in Kanto. Isn't it odd that after 3 years, the man is still using his Machop to flatten the land? Vermillion City has a Fan Club, many houses and the usual Pokémon Centre and Mart and of course, Vermillion Gym.

Fan Club

The Fan Club is located directly above the gym. Talk to the president for a Rare Candy, also talk to the boy and talk to the Clefairy (doll), after fixing the Power Plant and talking to Copycat in Saffron City.

This Gym uses Electric-type Pokémon so get out a Ground or Rock-type Pokémon and you will win without a scratch. Unlike its Red/Blue/Yellow counterpart, this Vermillion Gym's trash bin puzzle isn't active when you visit, so you can just walk right into Surge's quarters.
