Lower City map

Upper City

Taris Lower City - No Commentary Light

You enter the Lower City from the Upper City elevator to the south of a crossroads. When you first approach it, an altercation between three Black Vulkars and three Hidden Beks takes place just to the west:

The victorious Black Vulkars attack you:

The Vulkar Shock Stick has On Hit: Stun 25% chance, 6 seconds, DC 10, so focus on this one first (preferably from range) unless you want to be on the wrong end of your first lesson of how advantageous debilitating your opponents can be...

When you go west from the crossroads and enter the bend to the north, a Vulkar enforcer and two Black Vulkars spawn to to the north of the crossroads by the entrance to the east apartments, presumably to ambush you upon your return.

The Vulkar enforcer is accompanied by any two of the following Black Vulkars:

Similar groups will spawn elsewhere in the Lower City.

Hidden Bek Base

Go west from the crossroads north of the Upper City elevator, round the bend to the north and past the Rodian bouncer at the door of Javyar's cantina on your left and you'll see the door to the Hidden Bek base in the east wall, guarded by a lookout on the left:

You have to speak to the lookout to be let in, although nobody can be equipping Sith Armor:

If you exit the Hidden Bek base after returning from the Black Vulkar base and being identified as an assassin, she will sneak attack you:

Template:KotOR XP

As long as she is not hostile, she is invulnerable and will attack any Black Vulkars who get too close. The same is true for the Bouncer outside Javyar's Cantina next door, making the small section of road between them a sort of "safe zone".

Undercity

When you pass the Hidden Bek base, travel north and enter the bend to the west, a Vulkar enforcer and two Black Vulkars will spawn at its end.

To the west is a T-junction where you'll witness a meeting that gives you your first sight of the Mandalorian mercenary Canderous Ordo. As you continue west past the entrance to the west apartments to the south, another Vulkar enforcer and two Black Vulkars will spawn up ahead, hidden on the left.

Continue west to the Undercity elevator, guarded by five blaster turrets (three to the left and two to the right) and a Sith soldier to the right. If anyone is still equipping Sith Armor:

Otherwise:

Regardless of how anyone is equipped, never select this response:

Indeed: the Sith soldier and blaster turrets are all invulnerable, and have On Hit: Instant Death, DC 100.

Security Undercity Entrance Unlock 100 (80) Bash Resist - Vitality -

Once you have Sith papers from Gadon Thek in the Hidden Bek base, the soldier will let you go down to the Undercity:

Black Vulkar Base

To the east from the crossroads north of the Upper City elevator, you'll see the entrance to the Black Vulkar base. Between the crossroads and the entrance you'll see a Twi'lek corpse on the right just beyond a smoking swoop bike:

Template:KotOR Item

The entrance is flanked by two Vulkar guards:

Upon trying to enter the base:

[This door cannot be opened from the outside. You will have to find another means into the Vulkar base.]

Although you cannot enter when you first arrive in the Lower City, killing these two guards is advisable for light side characters who refuse Kandon Ark's offer once inside, since they'll be there when you exit with the swoop accelerator for the Hidden Beks; it's also advisable for dark side characters, since after accepting Kandon Ark's offer and exiting the guards, and all other Black Vulkars in the Lower City, will be gone.

After exiting you'll be able to enter again, although all remaining Black Vulkars within will be hostile. After traveling west from the crossroads north of the Upper City elevator until you're halfway round the bend to the north, a Vulkar Enforcer and two Black Vulkars spawn to the left of the Twi'lek corpse, where they'll be waiting for you when you exit and return to the Hidden Bek base, unless you doubled back to kill them or accepted Kandon Ark's offer.

Escaping Taris

Javyar's Cantina

Go west from the crossroads north of the Upper City elevator, round the bend to the north and you'll see the door to Javyar's cantina in the west wall guarded by a Rodian bouncer on the right.

Security Javyar's Cantina Unlock 100 (80) Bash Resist - Vitality -

You have to speak to the bouncer to be let in, although nobody can be equipping Sith Armor:

Otherwise:

Although it isn't necessary to enter until escaping Taris, you can meet Mission and Zaalbar here if you don't already have Sith papers from Gadon Thek in the Hidden Bek base, meet Calo Nord if you haven't completed the search for Bastila, or play Pazaak or visit the bounty office to try to earn some credits.

Apartments

Continue north from the Upper City elevator, and the entrance to the east Lower City apartments is beyond the standard door ahead of you.

The entrance to the west Lower City apartments is beyond the standard door to the south of the T-junction to the north then west of the Hidden Bek base. When you first arrive there, you'll see three people meeting there. As you approach, Davik's agent will be joined by the Mandalorian mercenary Canderous Ordo as he talks to two Black Vulkars:

You can speak briefly to Canderous before he starts walking off:
