After entering from Upper City North, you need to get the Sith Armor so that you can return and fool the Sith guarding the Upper City elevator to gain access to the Lower City: if you haven't been invited to a party in Upper City South's cantina, then you receive this from the remains of the Sith commander in the northwest apartment; otherwise, you can get it from a Sith backpack in the west apartment if male, or the northeast apartment if female.

Largo's Apartment is to the southeast, where you can complete Largo's Bounty and move much closer to the light side of the Force by paying his debt (200 credits!), or closer to the dark side of the Force by extorting and killing him (this is also possible without affecting your alignment, but may feel out of character if light side).

Map of the north apartments

Upper City[edit]

These apartments have a similar layout to the South Apartments, with five apartments on the outer wall of an apartment complex ring and an elevator back to the Upper City in the outer wall on the south side. The ring is populated by a maintenance droid, a child, two women and a man, all of whom will comment when spoken to but none of whom can be engaged in dialog:

Beep beep beep-oop!
Child
Is you one of the Sith? My daddy says the Sith are nothing but bullies. You don't look like a bully.
My Momma says I have to stay out of the Lower City. That's where bad people live.
You ever seen a swoop bike? I seen them at the races sometimes. They go fast and make lots of noise!
You're one of them Sith, ain't you? My mommy says I'm not supposed to talk to you.
Woman
Taris used to be a nice place, before the Sith showed up and started bossing us around!
Stay out of the Lower City. That place is overrun with gangs!
I wonder if any of those Republic space pods survived crash landing in the Undercity?
I'm... I'm sorry. I don't want to get in the way of official Sith business.
Man
I've got a ton of things to do today. I can't talk to you.
I heard the gangs have overrun the Lower City. Why don't the Sith go down there and restore order?
I heard the Sith are sending salvage teams down into the Undercity to recover those Republic escape pods.
Please, don't take me in for questioning... I don't know anything! I swear!

All five apartments contain a footlocker, although those to the southwest and southeast have low security doors:

The southeast apartment is Largo's Apartment and the southwest apartment contains a family of a man, woman and child, who will comment if you speak to them but won't engage you in dialog:

Woman Child Man
I remember when a person didn't have to worry about thieves rummaging through their home! You ain't supposed to be here! This ain't your home! Don't – don't hurt my family! Just take what you want and get out.
I'm... I'm sorry. I don't want to get in the way of official Sith business. You're one of them Sith, ain't you? My mommy says I'm not supposed to talk to you. Please, don't take me in for questioning... I don't know anything! I swear!

Search for Bastila[edit]

If you've come here directly without being invited to a party by an off-duty Sith in Upper City South's cantina, then travel from the elevator to the northwest apartment, outside which a Sith trooper is standing guard. This is the recommended option, since it gives you the chance to receive more experience and more items, and possibly move closer to the light or dark side of the Force. If you don't speak to the Sith trooper, as you pass he speaks to you:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: Just move along. There's nothing to see here.

Within the northwest apartment, an alien prisoner standing in the north corner is being interrogated by the Sith commander, while another Sith trooper searches the footlocker in the west corner:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Commander: Where did you hide those Sith uniforms? Did you sell them to the Tarisian underground? Start talking – I want answers!
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: Please – I'm only a visitor to Taris, trapped here by your quarantine. I know nothing about the Tarisian underground or your missing Sith uniforms!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What's going on in there? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Uniforms? What are they talking about?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: You're a little too curious for your own good, civilian! This doesn't concern you!
KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: *whisper* I know all about Sith interrogations. This isn't going to end well.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Commander: I'm getting sick of your lies, you alien scum! We got your ugly mug on a security tape from the base! Start talking before I splatter your slimy brains all over this room!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: Uh-oh. I think the commander's losing his temper. I'm glad I'm out here – it took me an hour to clean the blood stains from my uniform after the last interrogation.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Maybe the alien really doesn't know anything. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Stop the interrogation right now!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Commander: Who said that? What's going on out there?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: Just stay out of this, if you know what's good for you!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I won't let you kill a defenceless prisoner! Light Side Points Gained: +2
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Commander: What was that? Did I hear you right? 'Let' us kill him? How can you stop us? Time to teach this civilian the penalty for defying the Sith!

If you get involved, you fight all three Sith now. Otherwise:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't want to get involved in this. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. You're right. Do whatever you want.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: Smart move.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Commander: This is your last chance: where did you hid those uniforms you stole?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: I swear, I don't know what you mean. I just... NOOOO!

The Sith commander guns down the alien prisoner, then issues a command to the Sith trooper standing outside:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Commander: Get in here, search the room. I know those uniforms are in here somewhere.

The Sith trooper goes inside to start searching the east corner of the room. If you follow him, he challenges you:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: What do you want, civilian? Do you have any information about the missing Sith uniforms? Make it quick!
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: What do you want, civilian? Do you have any information about the missing Sith uniforms? Make it quick!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Uniforms? What are you talking about? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I'm sorry... I'll be going now.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: You're awfully curious about this... maybe a little too curious! I think you know more about those missing uniforms than you're saying! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: Not so fast, civilian... why are you here? Are you a spy? You came to buy Sith uniforms from this alien, didn't you? Didn't you?!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. If I wanted uniforms I'd just kill you and take yours! KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I don't know what you're talking about!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: A threat? I knew you were a spy! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Trooper: Right... like I'm going to believe that! A crate of Sith uniforms goes missing and you just happen to wander into the apartment of our prime suspect? That's pretty convenient! You're part of some Tarisian underground resistance, aren't you? Time for you to learn how the Sith deal with spies!

Now you have to fight all three Sith anyway:

This full body armor could be used to fool people into thinking the wearer was one of the Sith.

You can equip this to fool the guard at the Upper City elevator, giving you access to the Lower City.

If you got involved before the alien prisoner was killed, you can speak to him now:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: Thank you, human. The Sith would have killed me... of that I am certain. I don't know who you are, but it is clear you are no friend of the Sith. Among my people there is a saying: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Like you I hate the Sith. That is why I stole those Sith uniforms for the Hidden Beks.
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What are you talking about? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. The Sith were right! You are a spy! KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. The Hidden Beks? Who are they?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: In the Lower City there are some who do not bow to the conquerors. Swoop gangs like the Hidden Beks are gathering resources to one day strike against the Sith oppressors. If you wish to strike another blow against the Sith you would be wise to journey to the Lower City and speak with Gadon Thek, the leader of the Hidden Beks.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What are the Hidden Beks planning?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: You would have to ask Gaddon Thek to know the answer to that question. They approached me, and my only role was to obtain the Sith uniforms for them.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Can you take me to Gadon?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: Access to the Lower City is restricted, I have never actually met Gadon. My only dealings were with members of his Hidden Bek gang.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Can I get one of those uniforms from you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: I am sorry, but all the uniforms I had were given to the Hidden Beks. I suppose you could take the uniforms from the bodies of the Sith soldiers in this room if you wanted.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. How about a reward for saving you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: I'm sorry, human, but I have nothing of value. The credits the Hidden Beks gave me for helping them against the Sith are long since spent.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. I should be going now.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: As should I. The Sith know my face now, I must find somewhere to hide on this world. Thank you once again, human.

If you speak to him after anyone has equipped Sith Armor:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: You wear the uniforms of the Sith, but your actions prove you are not one of them. I... I do not know who you are, but I owe you my life.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why were those Sith interrogating you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: I... I don't know. They thought... they thought I was part of some underground resistance. I don't know why they would suspect me... I'm completely innocent.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Is there any kind of reward for saving you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: I'm sorry, but I have nothing. As I tried to tell my captors during the interrogation, I am a poor traveler trapped here by the Sith quarantine – nothing more.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Now I get the pleasure of killing you myself! KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Go on, get out of here.
KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: What are you doing? There's no need to go around drawing attention to ourselves. You there... just get out of here.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Alien Prisoner: Yes... I have no desire to be here when another patrol comes to investigate these deaths. Goodbye, and thank you once again.

Otherwise, if Carth isn't present:

Invited to a Party[edit]

If you have been invited to a party by an off-duty Sith in Upper City South's cantina, your destination will depend on your sex: if you're male, you were invited by Sarna, who lives in the west apartment; if you're female, you were invited by Yun Genda, who lives in the northeast apartment. The only other difference is who speaks to you and your host:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith: Hey, you made it! I was beginning to wonder if you were going to show! The party's in full swing – come on in. You have to try this Tarisian ale – it's fantastic! We should have conquered this planet ages ago!
Dialog
Yun Genda: Careful, Sarna. That wine's got quite the kick. A couple more bottles and we'll all be passed out on the floor! Sarna: Careful, Yun. That wine's got quite the kick. A couple more bottles and we'll all be passed out on the floor!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith: Who cares? We're not on duty tomorrow – let's live a little! Come on – drink up!
Journal Entry Added The Search for Bastila
The Sith at the party underestimated the infamous kick of Tarisian ale, giving you ample opportunity to search their belongings while they sleep off the effects of the powerful drink.

Largo's Apartment[edit]

Largo lives in the southeast apartment with a low security door:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: You're... you're with the Sith, ain't you? Sure... I recognize the uniform. What... what do you want? I haven't done anything wrong. If... if you want to search the place go ahead. I won't stop you. I've got nothing to hide from you.

Otherwise:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: Please... please don't hurt me! You don't have to kill me – I'll have Davik's money if he... if he just gives me a little more time! Please, I don't want to die! Here – I've got 50 credits on me. That's all I've got. It's yours – just don't tell Davik where I'm hiding, okay? I'm begging you.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What are you babbling about? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Don't worry – I'm not going to hurt you.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: You mean you're not here to kill me? But... I thought you were one of Davik's bounty hunters. If you're not here to kill me, what do you want?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'm just looking around.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: Just looking around? Oh... okay. Go ahead, look around. Just don't tell Davik I'm here, okay?

Otherwise, if you want the credits he offers but don't want to move closer to the dark side of the Force, end the dialog without killing him and then return:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Give me the credits and I won't tell Davik you're hiding here. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: What... what do you want now? You're not going to tell Davik's bounty hunters where I'm hiding, are you?
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Hand over some credits or I'll tell Davik where you're hiding!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: Here – take the credits. But please, just don't tell Davik where I'm hiding. He'll kill me if he finds me!
KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: I know we might need credits, but there has got to be a better way to get them than this!
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 50

Largo's Bounty[edit]

Even if you've extorted credits from Largo, you can still offer to help him:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Maybe I could help you with your problem with Davik.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: I don't think anyone can help me. I owe Davik money, and I was late with the payment. So he went to Zax in the bounty office and put a price on my head! I've been hiding here ever since, but sooner or later someone will find me. Unless I somehow come up with another 200 credits I'm a dead man.
Journal Entry Added Largo's Bounty
A merchant named Largo owes a large sum of money to Davik Kang. Because he is unable to pay the debt, Largo has gone into hiding. In response, Davik has put an illegal bounty on his head.

If you have at least 200 credits:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Here – I've got 200 credits you can have. Light Side Points Gained: +6
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: You'd give 200 credits to a stranger just to help them out?! I... I don't believe it! Thank you!
KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: Wow, that was sure generous of you. I just hope we don't end up needing those credits later on.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: Now I can pay off Davik! Oh thank you – you've saved my life! I better go give this to Davik right away!
Journal Entry Added Largo's Bounty
Out of the goodness of your heart, you've given Largo the money to pay Davik back, likely saving the poor man's life.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 200 Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 110 Gave Largo money to pay back Davik

Although you may move much closer to the light side of the Force and gain some experience, 200 credits is a significant sum at this point in the game and unfortunately for Largo, the rewards for killing him are significantly higher.

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. There's a bounty on your head, Largo, and I'm here to collect! KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Maybe I should just kill you and collect the bounty.
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: I knew you were here to kill me! Well, I won't go down without a fight!

Even more unfortunately for Largo, you can kill him without moving closer to the dark side of the Force by ending the dialog without killing him and returning to extort credits from him a second time:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: But... I already gave you all my money! I don't have anything left. You promised you wouldn't tell Davik where I was!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. That's too bad. Say hi to Davik's men when they stop by.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: You can't tell Davik where I'm hiding with a blaster bolt through your chest!

You'll also receive 50 credits if you haven't already done so, and you can go to Zax in Javyar's cantina in the Lower City to collect the bounty.

Alternatively, you can end the dialog without killing him and give yourself some time to decide whether you should do so:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Don't worry – I won't tell anyone you're hiding here. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Fine... I'll let you live.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Largo: Thank you – you've saved my life. At least until one of Davik's bounty hunters finds me.
