In the Boss Battles Mode you select a character and start fighting with every Subspace Emissary boss in a row. You have three lives and a partner controlled by the CPU or a second player.
In the Boss Battles Mode you select a character and start fighting against every boss in a row. Like All-Star mode, you have one life and three hearts that fully refill you health after every battle.  It also allows for Co-op, but once one person dies, the game is over (there are no continues).
