- This guide is for the computer version of the game. For the console version see The Sims 2 (console).
The Sims 2 is the sequel to The Sims, the best-selling PC game of all time. It has been released on a variety of platforms. The game is similar in play to The Sims but has new features such as ageing, aspirations, wants, fears, a seventh skill (cleaning), genetics and family trees.
The console and handheld versions of the game differ from the PC game. The handheld versions (Game Boy, Nintendo DS and PSP) use objective-based gameplay. The console versions (PS2, Xbox and GameCube) offer free-from play but only offer one age group. They don't have ageing either but they do offer a lot of unlockables.
