As other classes gain skills to pacify targets or backstab with unimaginable power, the Dwarven Warsmith gets only an upgrade to the less than effective stun skill or a polearm sweep skill with similar results.  Even as a tank, without simple skills like hate or hate aura, they cannot keep monsters off the damage dealers. Therefore, Warsmiths are used as a last resort in most situations or with clan members or friends sympathetic to the lack of skills.

The Dwarven Warsmith

After level 39 and another three difficult class quests, the Dwarven Artisan can become a Dwarven Warsmith. The play style and skill set are almost identical for this highest level crafter, with a new emphasis put on seige warfare. Along with the Orc Overlord, the Warsmith is a key element of a successful siege.

Skills

With the exception of the new siege skills, the Dwarven Warsmith's skills are just a continuation of previous skills.

Crystalize

At level 40 a Warsmith is able to crystalize items of C grade or lower. This raises to B grade at 52, A grade at 60. As there is no S grade equipment at this time, there is no skill to crystlize it. By the way, how to crystalize? Well, you need to have grade B objects to crystalize, generating B Crystals. The same for the other grade Crystals. Take the object, drag it and then drop it at the axe in left down corner of the inventory.

Expertise C, B, A, and S

The ability to use items of higher grades comes at the same time as the crystalize skill, except for A grade, which was increased to 62 in C3 with S proficiency available at 67.

Hammer Crush

The Hammer Crush skill is little more than a higher level version of stunning hit.

Whirlwind

The Whirlwind skill is like wild sweep, just stronger.

Summon Siege Golem

The Summon Siege Golem skill allows the creation of a giant metal golem used to attack castles in a siege. Although not required for a siege, their presence is a great boon to the attacking clan. The cost is 300 C crystals for creation and 70 C gemstones per minute for use. This skill and other siege skills can only be acquired with a blueprint, much like a mystic's spellbook, that is not sold in shops, though not terribly rare.

Summon Big Boom

The Summon Big Boom skill allows the creation of what is essentially a slow rolling powder keg used in sieges to weaken the castle gate. Although an easy target, the meager cost of 1 D crystal makes this a cheap way to siege for the less advanced clan.

Summon Wild Hog Canon

The Summon Wild Hog Canon skill allows the creation of a movable castle attacking canon. The golem cannot attack and move in the same mode and has a 30 second wait to switch. The costs is 120 B crystals and 30 B gemstones per minute.

Party Use

As other classes gain skills to pacify targets or backstab with unimaginable power, the Dwarven Warsmith gets only an upgrade to the less than effective stun skill or a polearm sweep skill with similar results. Even as a tank, without simple skills like hate or hate aura, they cannot keep monsters off the damage dealers. However with a polearm, and the polearm masteries that Dwarfs get, a Warsmith can make an effective AOE character for a duo with a healing class or as another AoE damage dealer.

Clan Use

Only Warsmiths can create the siege monsters used to assist in a castle siege, and that makes them highly desirable in a clan. Having multiple Warsmiths for this purpose is even better. For those clans that are not interested in siege warfare, the crafting ability of the Warsmith to make soulshot and spiritshot at cost and always have a crafter for whatever item desired means no Warsmith should be without a clan.

Crafting Changes

While the Artisan might have a few items of interest and the occasional D grade shot sale, the Warsmith has limitless profitability if they have the right recipes. Warsmiths can create many items that are either so infinitely rare as a drop or do not drop at all. No items above grade D are sold in the NPC shops. Better yet, Warsmiths can sit in town, away from the computer, with a craft shop open essentially selling their skills to craft these items. Lower end soulshot crafts might sell for 100 adena, but top grade weapons craft for 100,000 and higher. A high level crafter as an alternate character can make a great deal of adena without much effort.
