We have some sad news that Hotaru Futaba died after testing positive for COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) at the hospital on March 30, 2020. Her pet Itokatsu died from COVID-19 on March 24, 2020.
On March 21, 2020, in Second Southtown, Hotaru Futaba was tested positive for Coronavirus. She can't enter the King of Fighters: Maximum Mayhem Tournament because she was sick. She stayed at the hospital for 7 days. According to the doctors, Hotaru has flu-like symptoms.
