In this game, you play as a tamer, named as you choose, who works on the dangerous [[Digimon World 2/Directory Continent|Directory Continent]], defending the [[Digimon World 2/Digital City|Digital City]]. Most of the game will be spend traversing various [[Digimon World 2/Domains|Domains]]. When you are in a domain, the controls are as follows:

*{{psx|S}}: Allows you to examine enemy digimon within the same room as you. You can find their type, any partners that are with them, and their levels. You also need this to give digimon [[Digimon World 2/Gifts|gifts]].

*{{psx|X}}: Allows you to examine what is infront of you, such as [[Digimon World 2/Treasure Chests|Treasure Chests]] or [[Digimon World 2/Mines|Mines]].
