Map of Somnia Town

Alright. First of all, there's a weapon called the Boomerang at the Weapon Shop, and you will DEFINITELY want that! Unlike every previous weapon, this one hits ALL enemies, not just one! Fights will be significantly easier with it...but it costs 420G to get. So sell your Thief's Key for 150G/352G Gold, get the Boomerang, then make sure you have at least 12 Herbs on you before moving on. If you have been following this guide up until now, you should have the following...

Rex (Level 3): Boomerang, Scale Armour, Scale Shield, Hardwood Headware

The more astute among you might be wondering this: "What was the point of spending all that money on the Thief Key if we were just going to sell it so quickly"? After all, SNES players will have spent 470G; and the items they would have gotten with it are a Scale Shield (180G), a treasure chest with 250G, and a Chimaera Wing (25G). Add them all together, and we got 455G in assets; so, didn't we actually LOSE money by getting that stuff with the Thief's Key?

Well, actually, no. You see, you can sell most items in this game for 75% of the buying price. In other words, you can sell the Thief's Key for either 352G or 150G (depending on which version you're playing). So add THAT to the amount of assets we gained in Haggleton, and you'll find that you actually DID come out ahead. Or, to put it simply, you...

SNES: Gained 337G in total by using, and then selling, the Thief's Key.

Re-Releases: Gained 225G in total by using, and then selling, the Thief's Key.

This said however, you will also want to buy it again at one of the future towns in order to get a weapon called the Poison Moth Knife. Money will not be any problem by the time you get to that point, for you will have plenty if you follow this guide; but if you wish to save 118G by NOT selling the Thief's Key, you could simply fight 3-5 fights outside Somnia in order to get the Boomerang. This is not necessary however.

Whatever you decide to do, go talk with the guard at point F, say "Yes", go to the Church, see the guy with the purple mohawk walk out, go back to the castle, and head inside to get your next mission from a person call Captain Blade. After that, go south into Gardsbane Tower.
