Every new character has access to nearly the same exact skills from the moment they step on Trainee Island. They are extremely cheap, and only if you do not plan on having a creature to help you out should you not buy the creature skills, or you can wait until an Empty Card drops as it only takes 17 JP to purchase every Creature skill.
