Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (悪魔城ドラキュラ黙示録外伝 LEGEND OF CORNELL Akumajou Dorakula Apocalypse Gaiden: Legend of Cornell?) was the second Castlevania game released on the Nintendo 64. Staring the man-beast Cornell, it takes place 8 years prior to Castlevania 64. Cornell shows up again in Castlevania Judgement.
The game was released just 10 months after Castlevania 64. It can be said that Legacy of Darkness is an enchanced remake of Castlevania 64, with completely redrawn stages, four new stages, two new playable characters (the main protagonist Cornell and the gunner Henry) and new extra modes (each one of the four playable characters has his/her own quest).
