Inside the levels, you can find the following items:
CLEAR CRYSTALS[edit]
Collect 100 to get an extra life. At the end of each level, all the clear crystals obtained will be stored and added to the others already in your possession. So every time you start a level, you won't have any crystals. However, these crystals also have another important function. If you have at least one crystal in your possession, when you are hit by an enemy or run into dangerous ground, you will not immediately lose a life, but Croc will drop them. If you hurry, you will be able to collect some of them before they disappear.
COLORED CRYSTALS[edit]
In addition to the clear crystals, there are five colored crystals (red, pink, yellow, green and blue) in each regular level. Collecting them all, at the end of the level you can open the Crystal Door, where you can get the last Gobbo of that level, as well as find another exit gong. Sometimes however, these colored crystals are camouflaged like normal clear crystals and you will not recognize them immediately.
HEARTS[edit]
By collecting these hearts, you will get an extra life.
GOBBOS[edit]
These are your friends that you must save. There are six of them in each level, one of which is always behind the crystal door. If you want to complete the game 100%, you will have to find them all.
SILVER KEYS[edit]
These silver keys are used to open the cages that you will find in the levels. Inside these cages there is usually a captive Gobbo or a button. Each key can only be used once. Once collected, it is shown at the top of the screen.
GOLDEN KEYS[edit]
You will need these keys to open locked doors. Each key can only be used once. Once collected, it is shown at the top of the screen.
JIGASW PIECES[edit]
These are the pieces of the puzzle that you will have to put together to reach the fifth bonus island. You will only find them in the secret levels, which will appear by finding all the Gobbos in the previous three levels. By taking them, you will complete the level they are in.
