Going Shopping[edit]

You begin in the lower right hand corner of town, below hut A. Enter hut A before you do anything else to double your amount of bread and to get an initial 100 blue seeds to spend at the shops. You will never be permitted to return to this area, so you must choose how you wish to spend your money before you advance to Area 1. How you spend your money here has a big impact on the rest of the game. There are two training classes, and two shops.

In general, you can skip the training classes. The Power training class does nothing for you that a little extra time in the first area won't accomplish for free. While the Force training class gives you a boost in the amount of force you have, the game ensures that you have enough force if you challenge every boss in the game. Spending 50 blue seeds here will allow you skip a couple of boss fights, but it's generally not worth it. That leaves the shops.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, you may be tempted to buy the Dragora Fang from the shop in hut E. However, you can buy it for the same price in Area 1, and for even less in a hidden shop later on. So it's best to leave it alone. Likewise, you should have plenty of food, so there's no need to buy any more. However, the 3 fruit for 10 is a good purchase, as you will need some later on.

The Trent Fruit and the Feuru Leaves in the shop in hut C are optional, and not all that practical. That leaves the Sacred Robe for 80. This one item can make a tremendous difference in the whole game. It cuts the amount of damage that you take in half. If you do not purchase it here, you will not be able to obtain one until the fourth area. Whether you are a novice or an expert at this game, this is a wise purchase to make.

Ultimately, you should determine what combination of purchases work best for you. However, the recommendation is that you purchase the Sacred Robe and one set of fruit before you enter Area 1. You should have 10 seeds left over in the end.
