Solaceon Ruins

In DP, there isn't much reason to go in here besides to meet the Ruin Maniac and collect the items which are skippable then catch the 26 Unown which also increases your chances of getting a Hippopotas in the Maniac Tunnel.

In Platinum, you get HM05 Defog in the very last room. To get there take the top right stairs (a kid who will give seals and Unown F are here) then the bottom left stairs (a Ruin Maniac to battle and Unown R are here) then the top right (Unown I is here) stairs then the top left stairs (Unown E is here) then the top left stairs (Unown N is here) then the bottom left stairs (Unown D is here) to get to the final room with the four items.

The Unowns[edit]

There are 26 types of Unown that can be caught in the main section of the ruins- each takes the form of a letter A-Z. After catching all 26 types of Unown, talk to the Digging Manic in the Maniac Tunnel near Route 214. After you have caught all 26 kinds, a hole will open up at the far end of the Maniac Tunnel. The hole leads to a special room in the Solaceon Ruins where Unown-! and Unown-? are able to be caught. There is a different type of Unown to every room in the ruins. You should be able to catch every one with a Quick Ball/Dusk Ball on the first round.

Each Unown signifies a letter in the English alphabet. Each of the hallways contains an Unown corresponding to 1 of the letters in "F-R-I-E-N-D". All the other Unown letters can be found in the dead ends found in the hallways.

Ruin Maniac[edit]

You will find him in the second hallway that's not a dead end.
