Rustboro City is home to the your first Gym battle .
The building west of the entrance is quarters for those working at Devon Corporation. On the second floor, talk to the little boy to get a Premier Ball.
To the west of the Pokémon Center is a house. Talk to the man there to get HM 01 (Cut).
Head east past the Center to the Pokémon Trainer's school. Talk to the teacher here to get the Quick Claw.
Pokémon Mart
The Pokémon Mart is just north of the city's entrance. It contains:
- Poké Ball: 200
- Potion: 300
- Super Potion: 700
- Antidote: 100
- Paralyz Heal: 200
- Escape Rope: 550
- Repel: 350
- X Speed: 350
- X Attack: 500
- X Defend: 550

- Reward: Stone Badge
The first Gym is not tough, provided you have a Water or Grass-Type Pokémon.

Once you beat Roxanne, you'll get your first badge, and TM39 (Rock Tomb).
