Friend Areas are areas that can be reached by going left from your Team Base until you hit a pathway going left. When you reach that a list will appear with all of your recruited Pokémon listed. You can change the order they are listed in by hitting {{ds|Select}}.
Friend areas can be achieved three different ways. The first way, and the easiest way, is to buy them from Jigglypuff, located next to the bank in Pokémon Square. The second way to get Friend Areas is to rescue a Pokémon offering a Friend Area as an award. The third way is only available after you beat the game; some recruited Legendary Pokémon don't have buyable Friend Areas, so they will give you their Friend Area after you recruit them.

;Friend areas can be achieved three different ways.
==Buyable Friend Areas==
#Buy them from Jigglypuff's store, located next to [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team/Pokémon Square#Felicity Bank|Felicity Bank]] in Pokémon Square.
#Rescue a Pokémon offering a Friend Area as an award for completing the mission.
#After you beat the game some Legendary Pokémon should be possible to recruit now. It is not possible to buy their Friend Areas, so they will give theirs to you once they join your rescue team.

==Buyable friend areas==
===Available at the beginning===
After saving Diglett at [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team/Mt. Steel|Mt. Steel]] friend areas will become available the next day. Wigglytuff will give you 2 friend areas for free: Wild Plains and Mist-Rise Forest. After getting them Magnemite shows up and is able to get Wigglytuff to also give you the Power Plant friend area so Magnemite can join the rescue team.

==Gained through missions==
==Achievable Friend Areas==
On rare occasions a mission on the bulletin board will appear that offers a friend area as an award. This is an example of why it is important to check the board every chance you get to check for new missions.
