Wii Sports doesn't require tons of button presses or complicated stunts. It is a very easy to pick up and play game. It's so easy that your grandparents can play as soon as they know what to do. Everyone that owns a Wii has this game because it comes free with the Wii console. (Sadly, the Wii in Japan is not sold bundled with Wii Sports.)

Main Menu[edit]

Insert the Wii Sports disc and go to the Wii Menu. There, select the Wii Sports icon and begin the game. Most of the movements used to play Wii sports are a quick or forceful motion towards your television. Make sure you are wearing the straps that are on your Wii Remotes or they might be flying all over the place!

Press the A button & B button Buttons on the Wii Remote to get to the Main Menu. Here you can select the available options.

  • Tennis
  • Baseball
  • Bowling
  • Golf
  • Boxing
  • Training Mode
  • Wii Fitness

Beginning a game[edit]

First, you must choose how many people are playing along with you. This depends on how many Wii Remotes you have and what sport you are playing in.

2 player games
4 player games

Training Mode doesn't require additional Wii Remotes to play, since you share the Wii Remote when your turn is finished.

Next, you must choose who you are. That is, if you had created Mii's in the Mii Channel. You can also get Mii's from a Wii Remote if they have Mii's stored on them. If you don't have any Mii's, you can use a generic Mii. Be warned that results used for those Mii's will not be saved and will be erased when you go back to the Main Menu.

Now you must choose the rules of the game. The rules are different for each game.

Skill Points[edit]

As you play the game, you will receive skill points based on your performance. If you do well, it will increase but if you do poorly, it will decrease. If you reach a set amount of skill points, you may get additional features such as more audience members cheering for your team in Tennis. At the 1000 level, you are considered a pro at the sport. Do your best to keep this number high!

If you play a multiplayer game of Baseball or Boxing, it will not improve your skill level, however, it will be affected if you play a multiplayer game of Bowling and Golf as those are based on your own performance. For Tennis, two players can play on the same side against two CPU players and here skill points will be awarded. If you play each other or use more than two players, no skill points will be awarded.

Training Mode and Wii Fitness[edit]

If you need to practice in a certain sport, then you should go to the Training Mode. At first, only 5 of the 15 sessions are available, one for each sport. As you complete those sessions, you will unlock other sessions for your enjoyment. Then you can improve on yourself by getting medals ranging from bronze to platinum under certain requirements. If you get a new high score or a new medal, you will get a message in the Wii Message Board. For more info on the Training Sessions, refer to that section in the walkthrough.

Wii Fitness is a test to try to determine your fitness age. You can only take one test each day and the results will be posted on the Wii Message Board. For more info, refer to the Wii Fitness section of the walkthrough.
