Polka

  • Age: 14 years
  • Origin: Tenuto
  • Weapon: Umbrellas

A young girl from Tenuto Village, whose terminal illness means she has the ability to heal others with magic. Despite being persecuted for possessing magic, she encounters Frederic and, after meeting him, resolves to go to Forte to ask why Floral Power is taxed so high but not Mineral Powder, not realizing just how involved in the world's problems she will become.

Allegretto

  • Origin: Ritardando

A street rat living in Ritardando with his friend, Beat, he steals food for the starving children of the town. After contemplating the injustice of the high taxes placed on everything (except Mineral Powder), he resolves to go to Forte to learn the reason.

Beat

EternalSonata BeatPortrait.png
  • Age: 8 years
  • Origin: Ritardando
  • Weapon: Guns

An orphaned kid who starts working with Allegretto, he seems to have a little trouble with names (despite his claims otherwise). He is also never without the camera he got from his late father.
Note: Beat can attack from a distance because of his gun. Beat's distance attacks are auto-aiming.

Frederic

EternalSonata FredericPortrait.png
  • Age: 39 years
  • Origin: The outside world
  • Weapon: Batons

As he lies dying of tuberculosis in the real world, Frederic Chopin dreams of the world in which Eternal Sonata takes place. He encounters Polka, who he later reveals has a remarkable resemblance to someone he knew. Throughout the journey, Frederic asks himself his purpose for being in the dream world. Like Polka, he has the gift of magic.

Viola

  • Weapon: Bows

A plain-spoken goat herder from the Chorus Plains, she and her pet Arco join the group seeking to put a stop to the madness caused by Forte after people mutated by Mineral Powder attack her home.
Note: Viola can attack from a distance because of her bow. Viola's distance attacks require initial manual aiming (holding Attack until the reticle is on target, then releasing).
