Appendices

Throughout the world of Eternal Sonata, you'll come across not only Score Pieces, but people who want to play "sessions" with you. Play a Score Piece as accompaniment to their piece of music, and you'll get a ranking which, if it's high enough, will reward you with an item to help your journey. Each session player's music has a Score Piece that is its natural accompaniment, and vice versa—this is the only way to achieve an A rank; Score Pieces can also produce S or B ranks in certain sessions.

It is important to note that many of the score pieces and rewards can only be obtained in the second playthrough, marked here as 'Encore only'.

Perhaps more importantly, on the second playthrough you must speak with the grandma in Baroque City Inn to hear a poem in Chapter 4, if you wish to obtain Score Piece 30 for the 100 Gamerpoint achievement "Score Piece Collector". If this is missed, the achievement cannot be obtained on that playthrough.

(Encore only) Play this Score Piece at Cabasa Bridge North Side with Disappointed Note to get Score Piece 32 (After gaining the teleport room key). If you already have the score piece, you receive a Snowpuff Cookie instead. It can only be obtained in Chapter 7 (or 6). If you are in Chapter 7, you may simply take the warp in front of Xylophone Tower to return to Baroque. Due to Cabasa Bridge by Fort Fermata being broken, one must backtrack from Forte through Hanon Hills and Fort Fermata to reach the north side of the broken bridge, where this NPC is located.

Score Piece 20

Found: Baroque Tavern, in the wine cellar after completing the Pirate Sidequest. You must have both Pirate Papers from defeating Dolce in the pirate ship (compulsory to the story) as well as Wah Lava Caves (optional), and have examined the six pillars in the Mandolin Church Catacombs in Ritardando (past the waterfall section). After obtaining these, speaking to the employee in the Wine Cellar and selecting the third option will result in a third fight against Dolce, after which this Score Piece can be found in one of the barrels.

This is the best weapon in the game, as it increases active time with successive hits as well as making all hits critical.

Found: (Encore only) Heaven's Mirror Field: From the Tenuto warp stone, go into Heaven's Mirror Forest and continue past Heaven's Mirror Forest North, where you fought the big boar, and proceed into the next area; Heaven's Mirror Field. You will see a squirrel on a large green mushroom to the left. Talk to it to get the score piece.

Found: (Encore only) Talking to the man with chest pains at Forte City Castle Gate (after acquiring the Teleport Room Key). You must have spoken to the grandma in Baroque City Inn in Chapter 4 to be able to get this Score Piece, as she falls to sleep in later chapters. It should be noted that this score piece can be attained in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7, so even if you beat Count Waltz and go through the Portal to Elegy of the Moon, you can still backtrack and get this Score Piece.

Score Piece 31

Found: (Encore only) A gift from the couple in the house south of the merchant in Baroque City after saving the man from Sharp Mountains (after acquiring the Teleport Room Key). This requires climbing Sharp Mountains once more and battling a reasonably easy mini-boss.
