Once you have the Flame, you can reach the village of Gato. Here, you’ll notice a nun talking to a Sproutling. The Sproutling will then run away. You are free to shop and upgrade your equipment in the shop a little further. You can also meet Alex here. Follow the Sproutling to the next area, the Pathways. Talk to the man here. He'll introduce himself as Rubens, and asks if you've seen anyone suspicious (the Sproutling doesn't count). Rubens will tell you it ran up to the Cliff Terrace. Go there.
The Sproutling in pain is there and the nun will try to help him removing a Popo Bug from his body, but he will run off again. The nun will mentions that Rubens needs a Popo Bug for some reason. Go back and talk to him. He will say the Sproutling headed for the Temple of Healing. Head to the left, and an item will fall down next to Rubens, it's a letter.
Reach the Temple of Haeling on top of the village. You’ll witness another funny scene with the Sproutling, than he will run off again. Check the side rooms of the Temple to retrieve two chests with Aroma Oil and Moss. Then head back to the Cliff Terrace.
Rubens and the Nun from before will be here, with the Sproutling. Rubens will refuse to follow through and hurt the Sproutling to get the Popo Bug. Return to the Temple to find a nun on the ground. Inspector Boyd will rush in and discover that she's still alive. Someone named Sandra must be disguised as the Sproutling. Returno to the Cliff Terrace.
Rubens and the Nun will be here now, talking about the Popo Bug. Suddleny, the nun will stab Rubens and threaten to kill him if you get close. She will take his sparkly gem, calling him a Jumi Knight, and teleporting off as the Inspector gets there and runs off to catch her. Talk to Rubens. He'll appoligize to Diana, and vanish in a swirl of colors.
You'll be back at the Temple of Healing, talking to Inspector Boyd, who will explain everything about the Flame of Hope. He will asks for your help and will send you off to check the town's outskirts. Exit the village from the south and go west on the map of Gato’s Grotto. A nun that was previously blocking that area, will let you proceed to allow you to investigate.
Now you will have to follow a path through the caves. The caves are very labyrinthine, but to find the right path you just need to follow the green leaves on the ground. You will encounter some enemies in these caves, but none of them should cause you any trouble, especially if you bought the new equipment in Gato's shop. Along the way, you can then find chests containing a Bird Meat, a Blackened Bat, a Wad of Wool an Angry Eye and a Flaming Quill.
Eventually you will find yourself back on the town map and you can reach the next area, the Waterfall. Continue past it, and head into the cave. You'll be back on the town map. Go to the next dot to reach the Cancun Bird Nest. The nun and the Sproutling will be there. Inspector Boyd will arrive but Sandra will toss off her disguise, using the Cancun Bird to fly away. The Sproutling feels better now, but the inspector is furious at having let the criminal escape. This adventure ends here and you will get your reward.
