For the Sega Saturn and PlayStation game see MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat: Arcade Combat Edition.

MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat is a 1995 game by Activision. It is part of the MechWarrior series. Unlike the original MechWarrior it abandons the RPG-like trading system and instead focuses on combat. There were many versions, first for MS-DOS, later with software rendering for Windows 9x, and later Direct 3D acceleration. Its success led to the release of the expansion pack MechWarrior 2: Ghost Bear's Legacy and the standalone title MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries.
