Template:Infobox Need for Speed: Nitro is the 14th installment in the long-running racing video game franchise Need for Speed. It was published by Electronic Arts for the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms. It was announced in January as part of a three-game announcement that included Need for Speed: Shift and Need for Speed: World Online. The game was being developed by EA Montreal, who has previous experience with Nintendo titles, although the DS version is being developed separately by Firebrand Games' Florida studio. Template:Continue Nav In contrast to Need for Speed: Shift, Nitro is the first game from the ground up to be made exclusively for Nintendo Wii and DS. Like Need for Speed: Undercover, this game is an arcade racing game. What's different is incorporating Burnout's drifting style and the use of nitrous hence the title of the game. Even though there isn't any online support, there is a multiplayer mode and a co-op racing for the first time. The Wii console has five control schemes available for you to use.
