Start with your alternate[edit]
To begin fighting with your second choice teammate, press and hold 
after selecting your fighters, or after a previous match, until the Versus screen is fully drawn. This must happen before the game begins to load the next fighters.
Fight against Ingrid[edit]
To earn a fight against Ingrid, you must satisfy the following conditions before the third fight:
- Never lose a single round.
- Finish at least two rounds with a Super Combo, Custom Combo, or Perfect finish.
Fight against Shin Akuma[edit]
To earn a fight against Shin Akuma, you must satisfy the following conditions before the end of the game:
- Never lose a single round.
- Complete at least 3 rounds with a Perfect victory (assuming the default is a best-of-3 round battle.)
- Do not lose the first attack more than 5 times (assuming the default is a best-of-3 round battle.)
Alternate Midnight Bliss animation[edit]
A few characters have a second alternate Midnight Bliss transformation which appears with rare frequency. These alternate animations can be forced to appear by pressing and holding

Unlockables[edit]
Original Themes[edit]
Every character that you complete the game with (including both members of your team) unlock the original theme music associated with that character from the series that they represent. This represents 23 of the selections of music that you can sample from the Sound Test in the Options menu.
Pyron[edit]
To unlock Pyron, simply beat the game. When you do, you will unlock the ability to play as Pyron, as well as the Infinity Chamber stage background and the Infinity Chamber background music.
Shin Akuma[edit]
To unlock Shin Akuma, you must make him appear and fight against him (explained above), and defeat him. When you do, you will unlock the ability to play as Shin Akuma, as well as the Infinity Chamber Remains stage background, and the Infinity Chamber Remains background music.
Play with Original Themes[edit]
After you have unlocked every hidden original theme, including all 23 character themes and the 2 associated hidden background themes, you can play the game while listening to the original theme music for the particular characters that you are fighting against. On the main menu, press and hold the 
button on the PlayStation 2, or the 
button on the Xbox, before selecting Arcade Mode. If you lose and continue, you must hold the same buttons down while continuing to keep listening to the original themes.
