Area 1[edit]

Phelios Stage 7 Area 1.png

Once that enchanted mirror has faded out, and Pegasus has started to propel Apollo forward again for a sixth time, the three-script Japanese texts of 'PHELIOS' no 7tsu no suishō wo atsumete! Taitan no ōinaru ishi ga, anata ni chikara wo ataete kureru wa. (「PHELIOS」の7つの水晶を集めて! タイタンの大いなる意志が、あなたに力を与えてくれるわ. with the game's name in English and not the Katakana Feriosu フェリオス) will appear at the bottom of the screen as three Item Flies come flying down towards him on the left side of the screen; once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at them to kill them, they'll leave two "S" and an "O" powerup behind and announce their names in Japanese from that C140. Once you've collected these, a Enormous Hand will come flying towards you from that left side of the screen - and once you've fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at it to kill it, it will explode and leave eight Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a charged shot at them to kill them another Enormous Hand will come flying towards you from the left side of the screen; once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at it to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind (as they fly directly towards you). Once you've fired a charged shot at them, to kill them, you will have to blast through a barrier of small destructible blocks (with a wall of blue bubbles on either side), in order to destroy the stage's first item capsule; once you have done so, it will leave the stage's "P" powerup behind. Once you have collected it, its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen and a third Enormous Hand will come flying towards you from that same side of the screen - and once you have moved out of its way and fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at it to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind (as they fly directly towards you). Once you have fired a charged shot at these to kill them, a fourth Enormous Hand will come flying towards you from the left side of the screen; once you have fired a charged shot from your sword (and all three beams adjacent to it) at it, to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind (as they fly directly towards you). Once you've fired a charged shot at these to kill them, you will have to blast your way through six more barriers of small destructible blocks on the left and right sides of the screen as an infinite amount of Uni come rolling down them towards you - and once you have done so, you will have to blast through this eighth barrier of small indestructible blocks with a third wall of blue bubbles on its left side in order to destroy the stage's second item capsule. Once you have done this, it will leave the stage's "H" powerup behind; once you have collected it, its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. A fifth Enormous Hand will then come flying towards you from the left side of the screen - and once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this to kill it it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a charged shot at these to kill them, you will come to the stage's third item capsule on the left side of the screen; once you have destroyed it, it will leave a 50-point bonus powerup behind. Once you have collected this, its value will be added to your score as two Turning Eyes extend their tentacles towards you from their positions on the left and right sides of the screen - and once you have fired enough charged shots from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at the one on the left side of the screen to kill him a sixth Enormous Hand will come flying down towards you from the top of the screen. Once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you've fired a charged shot at these to kill them you will come to the stage's fourth item capsule on the left side of the screen. Once you have destroyed it, it will leave a 2000-point bonus powerup behind - and once you have collected it, its value will be added to your score, as a seventh Enormous Hand comes flying towards you from the left side of the screen. Once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at it, to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you have fired a charged shot at these to kill them, you will have to blast your way through a ninth barrier of small destructible blocks in order to destroy the stage's next three item capsules on the right side of, in the centre of and on the left side of the screen. Once you have destroyed the fifth one, it will leave a 1000-point powerup behind - and once you have collected it, its value will be added to your score, as a tenth Enormous Hand comes flying towards you from the bottom of the screen. Once you have moved out of its way and fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this to kill it it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you have fired a charged shot at them to kill them you can destroy the stage's sixth item capsule. Once you have done this, it'll leave the stage's "E" powerup behind - and once you've collected it, its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen as an eleventh Enormous Hand comes flying towards you from that left side of the screen. Once you've fired off a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this to kill it it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you have fired a charged shot at them to kill them, you can destroy the stage's seventh item capsule. Once you have done so, it will leave this stage's "L" powerup behind - and once you have collected it its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen as a twelfth Enormous Hand comes flying down towards you from the top of the screen. Once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you have fired off a charged shot at these to kill them you will come to the stage's eighth item capsule in the centre of the screen. Once you've destroyed it, it will leave another 50-point bonus powerup behind - and, once you have collected it, its value will be added to your score as a thirteenth Enormous Hand comes flying towards you from the right side of the screen. Once you have fired off a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this one to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you've fired a charged shot at these, to kill them, you will have to blast through a tenth barrier of small destructible blocks in order to destroy this stage's ninth item capsule. Once you have done so, it will leave a second 1000-point bonus powerup behind - and once you have collected it, its value will be added to your score as this fourteenth Enormous Hand comes flying towards you from the bottom of the screen. Once you have moved out of its way and fired off a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at this one to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you've fired off a charged shot at them to kill them a fifteenth Enormous Hand will come flying towards you from that left side of the screen. Once you fire off a charged shot from your sword (and the three beams adjacent to it) at this one to kill it, it will explode, and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you - and once you fire a charged shot at these, to kill them, a sixteenth Enormous Hand will come flying down towards you from the top of the screen. Once you have fired a charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at it to kill it, it will explode and leave eight more Mini Hands behind as they fly directly towards you; once you have fired a charged shot at them to kill them, you'll come to the stage's next three item capsules on the left side of, in the centre of and on the right side of the screen. Once you have destroyed the tenth one, it will leave another 2000-point powerup behind - and once you have collected it, its value will be added to your score and you can destroy the eleventh item capsule. Once you've done so, it will leave the stage's "I" powerup behind; once you have collected it, its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen, and you can destroy the twelfth item capsule. Once you've done so, it will leave the stage's "O" powerup behind - and once you've collected it its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen as twenty-five Blue Will-O-The-Wisps come flying towards you from the left side, right side and top of the screen. Once you've fired off a charged shot from your sword and all three beams adjacent to it at them to kill them you'll come to the stage's next five item capsules on the left side, in the centre of and on the right side of the screen; once you've destroyed the thirteenth one, it will leave a 3000-point bonus powerup behind. Once you have collected it, its value will be added to your score, and you can destroy the fourteenth item capsule - and once you've done so, it will leave this stage's final, "S" powerup behind. Once you have collected it, its letter will be displayed at the bottom of the screen and the shot of Apollo's sword will be upgraded; you can now destroy the next three item capsules, and once you've done it, they'll leave three more 3000-point bonus powerups behind. Once you've collected these, their values will be added to your score as you blast out through six more barriers of small destructible blocks and another infinite amount of Uni come rolling down them towards you - and once you have done so, 160 red crystals (similar to the twenty that Scylla was protected by for the end of that fifth stage) will come flying down towards you from the top of the screen. Once you fire an upgraded charged shot at them to destroy them, the three-script text Dyupon no shinden (デュポンの神殿) will appear at the bottom of the screen, as Apollo descends down to and goes into the temple of Typhon below (which looks exactly like Medusa's, except for the fact that it is in space); the song you had been hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 will also fade out at this point. Also worth noting is the fact that the technical name for a small destructible block is a "Kabe", written in Kanji as "壁" - and that the item capsules look like this: Phelios Item Capsule.gif, while the five different types of bonus powerups look like this (as they are rectangular instead of circular): Phelios Powerup 50.gif Phelios Powerup 1000.gif Phelios Powerup 2000.gif Phelios Powerup 3000.gif Phelios Powerup 5000.gif

Area 2[edit]

Once Apollo has reappeared inside the temple of Typhon and its theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, five more Item Flies will come flying down towards him on the left side of the screen; once you have fired an upgraded charged shot from your sword (and the three beams adjacent to it) at these, to kill them, they'll leave two "S" and three "O" powerups behind, then announce their names in Japanese (from that C140). Once you have collected these ones, the three-script Japanese texts of Dyupon ha gigāsu saikyō no kaibutsu yo! Aporō, kiwotsukete! (デュポンはギガース最強の怪物よ! アポロー、気をつけて!) will appear at the bottom of the screen as Typhon appears at the top of it in his first form and shoots five homing fireballs at you - and once you fire off an upgraded charged shot from your sword and the three beams adjacent to it at him to kill him he will reappear further down the screen before shooting five more homing fireballs at you. Once you've repeated this process six more times, this game's "boss" theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for the seventh and final time, as Typhon transforms into his second form then starts spitting red crystals at you; if Apollo flies into his head, the impact will kill him instantly (regardless of how many life-hearts he has). But, once you fire enough upgraded charged shots at him to defeat him, he will explode, and the three-script Japanese text Aporō ha, yokoshima-jū 'Dyupon' wo tsuini taoshita. (アポローは、邪獣「デュポン」を遂に倒した.) will appear at the bottom of the screen - and Apollo will now proceed onward to the enchanted mirror at the back of Typhon's temple as Artemis's theme starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151 for a fourth and final time. Once it has faded in, Artemis will speak the three-script Japanese text of Kitekureta no ne, ureshī wa. Suki yo, Aporō!!! (来てくれたのね、うれしいわ. 好きよ、アポロー!!!) to her twin brother from the C140 as it appears at the bottom of the screen; Apollo will then fly off the top of the screen as the mirror's image fades into a shot of him rescuing Artemis and the game's ending theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. The Kanji/Hiragana text Eien ni... (永遠に...) will then appear at the bottom of the screen, as the mirror fades out - and you can sit back and enjoy the ending, which shows both Apollo and Artemis riding on the back of Pegasus, as he is flying over the clouds toward a dark blue castle (which resembles that of the Walt Disney Company, and has fireworks exploding around it) while the game's credits appear below them and you receive 10000 bonus points for every life-heart and life you have remaining (some names appear in turquoise with a spade, and others in magenta with a heart):

SEE YOU AGAIN
SOMEDAY

The names listed in turquoise with a spade indicate the male staff members, while the ones listed in magenta with a heart indicate the female ones, and after the credits have finished, the game will go into high-score mode as the high-score theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151; your score will most likely be the highest upon the cabinet to date so you should enter your name (up to four characters) at the top of the table with pride. Once you have done so, your registered name will flash up in its respective position on the table for a few seconds before the game returns back into attract mode.

Note: If Apollo is too close to Typhon's body when it explodes, he shall lose a life-heart if he gets caught in the blast; if it was his last one, the blast shall kill him, but the game shall still proceed to the enchanted mirror at the back of the temple, and ending, as if he was still alive. However, if the life that he lost was his last one, he shall not receive any points for his remaining lives during the credits, for he will technically no longer have any lives remaining, and if the credits finish before he receives the points for all his remaining lives, he will not receive those for any lives the game had not got to counting.
