Samurai Shodown 64, also known in Japan as Samurai Damashii: Samurai Spirits is a 3D fighting game released by SNK in 1997 only for Hyper Neo Geo 64 arcade boards following the Samurai Shodown series in a Street Fighter EX-style, this is also the first 3D game of the series.
The gameplay returns to the layout of the old games, with 2 Slash buttons and 2 Kick buttons, and also includes the Slash and Bust modes from Samurai Shodown III. The game is one of the best games of the series, but it's very rare. Thanks to the YouTube videos, it was more known by Samurai Shodown fans.
Story[edit | edit source]
It was autumn, 1789. Amakusa and Mizuki were destroyed. However, there were many cases of the disappearance of unborn babies in various places and a rumor of a mysterious puppeteer has been going around. The swordsmen have a feeling that an extraordinary event never experienced before would take place.
