Ice planets are an uncommon type of colonizable planet encountered, and offer metal rewards colonizing them. They are also moderately defended, making them excellent early to mid game colonization targets.
Ice planets require the Arctic Development research item in order to be upgraded past level 10.

It cannot be rebuilt if deleted, and can only be replaced by the normal Center for Human Doctrine.
Ability: Increases ship max speed and weapon damage by 10%.

A TEC Enclave exclusive structure. Causes idle factories to produce garrison ships. These ships can consist of Cobalts, Harckas, Javelises, Percherons, Gardas, and Shrikens. These ships do not consume your own fleet supply, and will stay in the gravity well and guard it from enemy attack. The recruitment center can be clicked on to change the mode of the garrison ships - hold (default, blue) will have the garrison ships stay at their current gravity well. Defend (yellow) will have the garrison travel one jump away to a friendly gravity well to aid in that defence. Roam (red) has the garrison travel one jump away to a neutral/enemy gravity well and attack.
Ideal for culture hubs, the Media Conglomerate increases your maximum influence points by 1 for every Broadcast Center built in orbit. It also grants a 10% bonus to culture spread, enhancing the broadcasting centers further.
