Sky Hunter/The final adventure

At the start of this challenge, the background shall turn blue again in the BBC Micro version as the text "You are going to the old boat-house to try to find out what Badger and Mr. Trim are up to." appears on the screen, with "Choose:" and three options (Easy, Hard, and Very Hard) below it; the option you choose determines the maximum amount of items the children may carry (Easy: 5, Hard: 3, Very Hard: 2), so if you choose Hard or Very Hard you will have to go back for some of them. The items the children are currently carrying are displayed below the text "You are carrying:" with the option "Drop it", or "Drop them" in the case of the chocolate drops from the storeroom, to their right - and the options you must select in each room are displayed in bold.

You are outside the old boat-house. You can see: a red door Go through it

You are on the left bank of the water. You can see: the right bank Go there a boat Get in it a blue door Go through it an oil can Take it a rope Take it a ladder Take it a plank Take it

After you take the oil can, it shall be displayed under the text "You are carrying:" with the option "Drop it" to its right; you shall then have to take the rope, ladder, and plank (but if you chose Hard or Very Hard, the text "That's too much to carry." will appear if you try to take a third or fourth item, and you will have to press Space to continue, so you will have to leave the plank on Hard and both the rope and plank on Very Hard). You will now have to get in the boat - and once you have done so, the text "You use the ladder to reach the boat." shall appear at the bottom of the screen. Once you have pressed Space to continue, the text of "You cross the water in the boat." shall appear at the bottom of the screen; you shall now have to push Space again.

You are on the right bank of the water. You can see: the left bank Go there a boat Get in it a staircase Climb up it a green door Go through it a stick Take it

You use the ladder to climb the stairs.

You are at the top of the stairs. You can see: a yellow door Go through it a purple door Go through it a staircase Climb down it

The door squeaks.

You use the oil to stop it squeaking.

You are in the passage. You can see: a hole in the floor Cross it Look down it Climb down it a purple door Go through it

There is a key at the bottom.

If you chose Hard or Very Hard, you will have to drop the oil can at this point and retrace your steps back down to the water's left bank to take the rope and plank; once you have done so, you shall have to retrace your steps back up to the passage and climb down the hole. The text "You climb down the hole on the rope." shall then be shown at the bottom of the screen - and you will then have to press Space for between a seventh and eleventh time.

You are in the hole. You can see: the top of the hole Climb up it a key Take it

Once you have taken the key, you shall have to climb up to the top of the hole, and cross it; once you have done so, the text "You use the plank to cross the hole." shall appear at the bottom of the screen, and you have to push Space in order to continue the game for between an eighth and twelfth time.

You are in the corridor. You can see: a black door Go through it a hole in the floor Cross it Look down it Climb down it a dog Stroke it

You use the plank to cross the hole.

You will now have to go back through the purple door and go through the yellow one; once you have done so, the text "You open the door with the key." will be displayed at the bottom of the screen, and you will have to push Space in order to continue the game for between a tenth and fourteenth time.

You are in the storeroom. You can see: a yellow door Go through it chocolate drops Take them

Once you have taken the chocolate drops, you shall have to go back through the yellow door, retrace your steps back over to the corridor, and drop the chocolate drops; once you've done so the text "The dog is eating the chocolate drops." will appear at the bottom of the screen. Once you have pressed Space for between the twelfth and sixteenth time, you shall have to go through the black door, and once you have done so, the text "You go through the black door." shall appear at the bottom of the screen - and you must now push Space to continue for between a thirteenth and seventeenth time.

Just as you are about to open the pink door, you hear voices. They are saying...

"Do you want to buy a peregrine falcon?" "I do if the price is right." The children recognise the voices of Badger and Mr. Trim.

Jackie whispers, "You're not meant to sell birds of prey. It's against the law."

"What shall we do?" asks Butch.

"I know!" says Trevor, "let's try and trap them here, then get the police."

You are in the big room. You could: Lock the door Untie the dog Take the plank Take the ladder

Once you have chosen any of the correct options, the text "Brilliant, that will trap them." shall appear at the bottom of the screen; once you have pressed Space for between a nineteenth and twenty-third time, the text of "Now we'll go for the police." will appear at the bottom of the screen. Once you have pressed Space for between a twentieth and twenty-fourth time, the game shall go on to the twelfth challenge - which is the last challenge of the game.
