Final Fantasy X/Overdrive Modes

Overdrive Modes (not to be confused with overdrives) are how a character's Overdrive Gauge fills up. Everyone starts with the Ally mode. The rest of these modes are learned in battle by doing different things, such as dying (please verify).
Mode | Description | Amount Gauge Increases |

Ally | Gauge increases by having a turn in Battle | 4% |
Avenger | Gauge increases when Ally is KO'ed | 30% |
Comrade | Gauge increases Ally takes Damage | Damage Received x 20 Divided by Hit Ally's Max HP |
