New Super Mario Bros. U[edit]

  • Hint: Get the coin(s)!
  • Description: Collect every coin, but DO NOT touch a Fuzzy! Trust me on this one. 2012: Wii U
  • Strategy: Maneuver around the Fuzzies in order to collect all coins on the screen. If your character is able to attack enemies without touching them, they can be removed, making the task far easier.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Collect one coin while avoiding one Fuzzy.
  2. Collect two coins while avoiding two Fuzzies.
  3. Collect one coin while avoiding three Fuzzies.
  • Passing Score: 25

Super Mario Land[edit]

  • Hint: Hit it! / Hit it and get it!
  • Description: Bonk the ? Block to score a coin or item. Old-school games are the coolest! 1989: Game Boy
  • Strategy: Don't waste any time hitting bricks; head straight for the ? Block to collect what's inside. You can also shoot at any item that drops out to collect it.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Hit the ? Block to get a coin.
  2. Hit the ? Block and pick up the mushroom.
  3. Hit the ? Block and pick up the star.
  • Passing Score: 25

Super Metroid[edit]

  • Hint: Guide!
  • Description: Did you know Samus can turn into a Morph Ball and roll around and stuff? Isn't she THE COOLEST?! Help her get to the exit! 1994: SNES
  • Strategy: Break the bricks in Samus' way and push her to either side of the screen to help her exit.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The path to the exit is past a single ramp.
  2. The path to the exit is beneath numerous bricks.
  3. The path to the exit is beneath a platform.
  • Passing Score: 25

Animal Crossing: New Leaf[edit]

  • Hint: Deliver!
  • Description: Pop the balloon at just the right moment to deliver the present to a villager! It doesn't matter which villager gets the gift—it's just nice to be nice, ya know? 2013: Nintendo 3DS
  • Strategy: Hit the balloons holding the present when it's above land to drop it next to a villager. Simply avoid dropping it in the gap between the villagers. A second balloon is added for a second player.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The present floats slowly across the gap.
  2. The present floats quickly across the gap.
  3. The present floats up and down across the gap.
  • Passing Score: 15

Nintendo Badge Arcade[edit]

  • Hint: Don't get caught!
  • Description: Ack! Don't let the claw catch you like you're some kind of collectible badge! You can run away from it or even try attacking it to make it go away. Shoo, claw, SHOO! 2015: Nintendo 3DS
  • Strategy: Move out of the claw's way to avoid its clutches (you can also push badges down if they're in the way, though falling down yourself results in failure). If your character has limited movement, attack the claw to push it away.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The machine is empty.
  2. There is one badge in the machine.
  3. There are two badges in the machine.
  • Passing Score: 25

Pikmin 2[edit]

  • Hint: Harvest!
  • Description: Attack the Pellet Posies to collect the pellets! You can't harvest pellets from flowers that haven't bloomed, so don't waste precious time trying to do something silly like that. 2004: GameCube
  • Strategy: Wait for the flower to bloom and then hit it rapidly until it falls to clear the game. Flowers require more hits to fall with a second player.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The flower blooms immediately.
  2. The flower blooms slowly.
  3. One of three flowers blooms slowly.
  • Passing Score: 30

Big Brain Academy[edit]

  • Hint: Create shape!
  • Description: Pick two pieces that'll match the shape of the silhouette when you combine them. This one's like homework, only it's fun because it's a video game! 2006: Nintendo DS
  • Strategy: Look closely at the pieces to see which two will fit together. An extra piece or two that would appear to fit the silhouette is always present to trick you.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Choose from three pieces to create a simple shape.
  2. Choose from three pieces to create a more complicated shape.
  3. Choose from four pieces to create a more complicated shape.
  • Passing Score: 15

Super Mario Bros.[edit]

  • Hint: Defeat!
  • Description: Do whatever you gotta do to beat Bowser! Dude's got it coming. Now for a hint from the world's biggest Nintendo fan: grabbing the axe behind him will totally do the trick! 1985: NES
  • Strategy: Dodge the obstacles and Bowser himself to reach the axe behind him, or simply shoot at Bowser until he submits.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Bowser shoots fireballs.
  2. Bowser throws hammers.
  3. Bowser shoots fireballs and throws hammers.
  • Passing Score: 20

Fire Emblem: Three Houses[edit]

  • Hint: Praise! / Confess feelings!
  • Description: This school seems different from my school... I mean REALLY DIFFERENT. For starters, this school has tea parties. Not only that, but you gotta say the exact right thing at these tea parties. Say something weird and things get super awkward. Good luck. 2019: Nintendo Switch
  • Strategy: Touch the correct option based on the instructions given. The option touched last will count as the chosen one once time runs out, so be sure to have the correct option selected before then.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Praise Claude. Incorrect options are insults.
  2. Confess to Dimitri. Incorrect options are misspelled.
  3. Confess to Edelgard. Incorrect options are misspelled.
  • Passing Score: 30

Ice Climber[edit]

  • Hint: Climb!
  • Description: Time to climb! Race to the top of the mountain, breaking blocks along the way when you need to. But watch out for falling icicles! 1985: NES
  • Strategy: Break blocks to make shortcuts to the exit above if necessary. When you see icicles form, wait for them to fall before passing, as making contact with one results in failure.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. There aren't many blocks in the way.
  2. There are many blocks in the way.
  3. There are even more blocks in the way.
  • Passing Score: 25

Donkey Kong Country Returns[edit]

  • Hint: Defeat!
  • Description: OK, this is serious stuff! You gotta defeat all the enemies on the screen! Hey...is that Donkey Kong's voice I hear? 2010: Wii
  • Strategy: Hit all enemies onscreen to summon Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong (or both with a second player), clearing the game. There are more enemies to defeat with a second player.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Defeat one enemy.
  2. Defeat two enemies.
  3. Defeat three enemies.
  • Passing Score: 25

WarioWare[edit]

Destiny Game[edit]

  • Hint: Land on goal!
  • Description: Time for some OLD old-school fun! In this board game, you've got to stop the spinner on the number that lets you move your piece the right number of spaces to reach the goal. Didja know that Nintendo used to make board games too? So cool! 1969 (Japan): Destiny Board Game
  • Strategy: Hit the spinner to stop it when it hits the correct number. Count the number of spaces that the game piece needs to move until it reaches the final space in order to figure out the correct number.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The correct number comes up frequently on the spinner.
  2. The correct number comes up infrequently on the spinner.
  3. The correct number comes up even more infrequently on the spinner.
  • Passing Score: 15

Splatoon 2[edit]

  • Hint: Who won?
  • Description: Hmm...can you tell which team inked more turf? Pick a side and head that way! The honorable Judd and Li'l Judd will deliver the final verdict. 2017: Nintendo Switch
  • Strategy: Look for which color covers the most space and make a judgment call by picking a side. It helps to look for which color bleeds over most into the center.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The difference between sides is large.
  2. The difference between sides is smaller.
  3. The difference between sides is even smaller.
  • Passing Score: 25

Devil World[edit]

  • Hint: Stay alive!
  • Description: Oooh, there's sooo much retro goodness in this game! You've gotta navigate a maze and try to stay alive while the screen scrolls. Keep moving so you don't get squished! 1984 (Japan): Famicom
  • Strategy: Move around the walls in the direction of the scrolling screen. The scrolling walls don't actually hurt you; the only danger here is getting crushed between the scrolling walls and the maze.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The screen scrolls to the right and walls are spaced out.
  2. The screen scrolls upward and there are more walls.
  3. The screen scrolls to the left and there are even more walls.
  • Passing Score: 30

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[edit]

  • Hint: Strike!
  • Description: Wow! Link is sooo cool! He stopped that object in its tracks using the Stasis Rune! Strike it to build up kinetic energy and send it flying. 2017: Nintendo Switch, Wii U
  • Strategy: Hit the glowing item until it flies off into the distance. This doesn't require as many hits with more forceful characters such as 9-Volt.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Strike a large box.
  2. Strike a small rock.
  3. Strike an even smaller rock.
  • Passing Score: 30

Luigi's Mansion[edit]

  • Hint: Find ghost(s)!
  • Description: Jeepers! Ghosts are hiding in the furniture! Talk about c-c-creeepy. Find the ghosts so Luigi can get rid of 'em! 2001: Nintendo GameCube
  • Strategy: Hit the furniture that the colorful wisps fly to and the ghosts will reveal themselves. Furniture holding ghosts will shake. If you can't figure out where a ghost went, attack everything until it shows itself.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Find one ghost. It hides in one spot and stays there.
  2. Find one ghost. It moves to different hiding places.
  3. Find two ghosts. They move to different hiding places.
  • Passing Score: 25

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker[edit]

  • Hint: Create path!
  • Description: Oh no, Captain Toad is stuck and can't get to the Power Star! Move things around to create a path for him! 2014: Wii U
  • Strategy: Push the ground up where it isn't level so that Toad (or Toadette with a second player) can reach the goal.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The sky is bright and two sections of the ground can be moved.
  2. The sun is setting and two sections of the ground can be moved.
  3. The sky is dark and three sections of the ground can be moved.
  • Passing Score: 30

Ele-Conga & Autoplayer[edit]

  • Hint: Spin it!
  • Description: Did you know that Nintendo made an electronic drum machine back in the olden days? So cool! Just turn the Ele-Conga's handle to get the beat going and the people dancing. 1972 (Japan): Ele-Conga
  • Strategy: Turn the knob in the direction indicated by shooting or pushing it. Don't stop turning until the people lined up off to the right are all dancing.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. The line of people is short.
  2. The line of people is long.
  3. The line of people is even longer.
  • Passing Score: 15

Game & Watch Judge[edit]

  • Hint: Which is greater?
  • Description: Time for a pop quiz! And it's math too! Just pick the side that has the highest number. HA! The student has become the teacher! 1980: Game & Watch
  • Strategy: At worst, this game presents you with simple arithmetic problems. Take the time to observe your options before selecting one, as you should have enough time to reach the correct option even with the slowest characters.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Choose between numbers.
  2. Choose between sets of dots.
  3. Choose between addition problems.
  • Passing Score: 30

WarioWare: Twisted![edit]

  • Hint: Sit up! / Shave! / Slide 'em off! / Light! / Flip him! / Dump it!
  • Description: You play this game by twisting the Game Boy Advance system around. Check out the screen to see what you need to do, and then get twistin'! 2005: Game Boy Advance
  • Strategy: Push the screen upward (or down if attacking from above) to turn it around. Watch the screen of the Game Boy Advance to see if it requires anymore twisting, or if it needs to be stopped.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Turn the system to one side.
  2. Turn the system around.
  3. Turn the system upside down.
  • Passing Score: 15

Yoshi's Story[edit]

  • Hint: Collect!
  • Description: Time to collect some eggs! Be sure to pick up the right amount, and don't forget to check the blocks too. 1998: Nintendo 64
  • Strategy: If there are blocks on the screen, hit them repeatedly to have them drop more eggs, then pick them up; it doesn't matter if you drop too many, as long as you collect the required amount.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Collect two eggs that are laying around.
  2. Collect two eggs. One is laying around and the other must be dropped from a box.
  3. Collect three eggs. One is laying around and two must be dropped from a box.
  • Passing Score: 30

Boss: Super Mario World[edit]

  • Hint: Clear course!
  • Description: Time for an epic adventures through a classic Super Mario World level! Try not to get hit by enemies as you race to the Goal Pole. Have fun, but don't forget there's a time limit. 1991: SNES
  • Strategy: The time limit isn't too constricting here, and it isn't necessary to pick up any items, so focus on making it to the end without getting hit by enemies or other hazards.
  • Levels of difficulty:
  1. Make it to the end of a grassy level.
  2. Make it to the end of a woodland level.
  3. Make it to the end of a castle level.
