Jumping | *There is no tactics behind jumping, Hey you're prolonging your death but you're not killing anyone, they are doing more damage to you then you are to them, if you think you are killing people and you see you killed someone, congrats you just stole someone else's kill. There is nothing more worse then Frogger/Jumpers. All it takes is for a close ranger to jump+hit to stun you then there will be no more jumping for you. :)
*Rapid jumping can, actually, help in three situations. In territory control, there is a small airspace that still counts for captures. Jumping can add the few seconds to your life your team needs to disable an aerogate. Second, jumping works if your waiting at a heal pad and suddenly get attacked, especially by mechs with rockets. This can buy you time until a teammate comes and turns the tables for you. Third, most teams will waste time firing at a jumper, allowing anyone with a cannon to aim and hit them. Oh, and on a side note, jumping makes mechs easier to hit with swords and spears. I have no idea why, but the range seems to double. Of course, you only get one hit, but you probably won't be hit yourself in the process.
*I find the easiest way to deal with a jumper with a cannon or rocket is to aim at where they are going to land and fire when they start to fall. Most mechs can’t take more then a few hits from a big gun, so the fly drops fast.
*Quick jumps along with a boost to the left, right, or backwards makes it much tougher to hit you. When you land, you should move in a direction for about a third of a second, then jump and boost again. This works well if you are trying to overheat a spammer. You can even shoot with rifles, shotguns, or SMGs while doing this, but it'll be hard to land a hit when you're moving around so much.
