In the game anyway, it's laid out like that so I'd want to keep the common ones and the class-specific ones together. P.S: The display also becomes inconsistent when the certification costs hit 1000.
That was just an experiment in zebra striping. Trying to make it more legible. To put things simply, these certification points are essentially skill points you use to unlock additional skills. That's a good point, it's just that the current layout with the tables makes it look somewhat ugly. I was thinking of trying to expand the table downwards, not really sideways, and collapsible bars seemed to do that for MapleStory. I could try subpaging each of the certifications, if it's acceptable to have sub-subpages. Re: JMS/Edit Protection

Thanks for the heads up :D About the JMS level cap: the cap was increased to level 250 and the maximum damage was raised to 49999999 (~50m). Since most of the KMS events like Jump, Champions and Unlimited never actually came to JMS, I believe it's appropriate to add individual features that have been implemented from those updates in the individual descriptions until everything is implemented. If the description just reads "Root Abyss only" then visitors can't distinguish the JMS description from TMS and GMS descriptions. Larmie (talk) 18:35, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Dragon Warrior III

Odd, I don't remember that issue being there before. In the source code it is showing:

No wonder you can't remember the issue before, because it showed up just yesterday when i added some GBC-Info along with the GBC Name for that monster. I saw the error the first time too. Oh, ahaha. Yeah I'm glad I could figure it out. The fix I implemented needs to happen sometimes, so take a look and keep it in mind. Basically, mediawiki needs an extra character, like a space, to tell it to do things correctly, and the <nowiki></nowiki> tags basically break up the coding to make it think that a character will be in between there, but since we don't put one in it works. The reason we don't want to simply use a space (which may have fixed it), is because the space would appear on the page, pushing the name to the right and making it look unaligned. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:54, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
There's a lot of mix between table syntax and template syntax in that template. This can often cause weird issues to show up. Sometimes you need to switch to using {{!}} or proper <td> tags to get it to work right. -- Prod (talk) 19:34, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

GBC-only Monster

I have now added the last monsters which exist solely on GBC, so i need your help to edit it so that only the GBC-image is showing and the SNES-image not. Ultima 5: completion stage 4

Hi NotMyHandle. I think I brought the guide for Ultima 5 to completion stage 4. Can you check if I forgot something?

Sorry if I didn't wait and set it to stage 4 by myself. I was excited at the idea of having completed a guide. I created the guide from zero after I started playing Ultima 5, because I found out that existing guides on the web didn't satisfy me. I can add more images when I'll replay the game. Should it be put back to Stage 3 because of the lack of images? Actually, there are several images (mostly maps) in the Dungeons pages, so I should just add some about the "surface" pages. Characters have no portraits, most spell effects are just a flash, most items are just "name & quantity"... It was the Eighties, after all!

Event Monsters

Von Leon

For LKC, there are several quest lines. One involves Krag asking you to get to the fourth tower, which involves breakin the seals, and then asking for several other things. Another one involves helping Ifia try to talk to Von Leon, which eventually leads to fighting Prison Guard Ani, who is considered the boss of the theme dungeon part. The other involves Luden asking you to kill Grey Vultures, and to enter Von Leon and defeat him once and for all. The thing is, it's separate from the theme dungeon, but you need to do several of the theme dungeon quests in order to start the Von Leon prequests. Also, the only fight with Von Leon is with the giant lion. When you see him as a human, it's because when you first summon him, he appears as a human, and then transforms into his lion form. However you want to place it is up to you, but I personally consider it a non-theme dungeon fight. --PirateIzzy (talk) 21:15, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Training Locations

I'm just wondering, instead of training locations for each job, should I just put them all on the Training Locations page? There really aren't a lot of special maps for certain jobs anymore, since all jobs can benefit from them. --PirateIzzy (talk) 00:23, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Alright, but should I place the mobs there with Choice A, like they're placed on a table, like this for example:

Orbis Tower 3rd floor - Suitable for All physical classes level 40+.
Monsters Dark Leatty (Lv 33, 1100HP, 65xp, weak to holy)
Notable Drops Pretty much none.
Pros For some reasons, this place is faster than kitties

Dark Leatties have worse accuracy

Cons Less money

Dark Leatties do more damage than Kitties

Comments Eh, works well as a bore-breaker for Kitties I guess. The profit is poor, but you're training at the same rate or faster than kitties at least.

...or B, should I just keep it the way it is on the Thief page, like this:


  • Level 30-35: Mushroom Kingdom. By completing all the quests there, you not only level up while doing the quests, you also get quite a large amount of EXP. Doing so, you should be able to get to 35 pretty fast!

I do it as a service to this site. I recall you telling me that Paco doesn't play Maple, am I right? Yet he does help out with it from time to time (besides deleting images). I also don't get why this game changed into a mainly-GMS guide. I remember years ago, the main reason I used to visit this site a lot to see what monsters were released in other versions, new or old, and what monsters could possibly be released in GMS's future. Major Changes

First things first, do you mind editing the quest template so it looks like this:

  • Maple Island, Edelstein, Victoria Island, El Nath Mts. & Aqua Road, Ludus Lake, Ellin Forest, Mu Lung Garden, Nihal Desert, Minar Forest, Temple of Time, Gate to the Future, Theme Dungeons, Silent Crusade, Masteria, World Tour, Malaysia and Singapore. Oh, and remove that theme dungeon section that directs to the towns (Mushroom Castle, Kerning Square, Neo City, and Chryse)
  • The thing is, I'm not entirely sure if Ellin Forest counts as a theme dungeon. I mean, I recall the level-up guide referring to it as that, as well as several other sources, but I'm not sure.
  • Anyway, I can see what you mean about the scope. I will miss looking at this site for the new monsters, though. As for event items, I never cared much about them anyway. I uploaded all the Shining Rods, and was planning to upload other weapons and equips. I know that if I leave, there will be a lot less updated content, so I stick around to help out, for now anyway. As for the last updated column, feel free. I personally just want the content to stay updated, which I can do thanks to Fiel (formerly) and Locked (currently) of Southperry. I don't care about having my name plastered, I just want to see the content updated. Doesn't mean others are the same, though, so go right ahead.
  • You should definitely combine food and potions. The only reason they're separate is their item ID, in my opinion. But other than that, they serve pretty much the same purpose, to heal/buff people. You could call the new page "Recovery and Buff Items" or something.

  • Oh, I didn't even know I could edit it myself. I asked to remove the Theme Dungeons section that lead to towns, which is this part of the current TOC:

  • I created a separate page for all theme dungeon quests, which is the Theme Dungeon quest page I mentioned earlier. I moved all the existing theme dungeon quests to that page. As for the order, I prefer it by their area, rather than alphabetical. As for Ellin Forest, I'll proceed to move all the quests and then put a deletion notice on that page, since it seems like a theme dungeon to me.

Speaking of Major Changes, I was thinking of changing the Elemental List. Instead of having it by "Resistant to X, Weak to X, Resistant to Y, Weak to Y", just list the monsters and their weaknesses next to it. Like this:

Archives and Bots

Just two questions:

  • 1. How do I archive my talk page?
  • 2. I've noticed for a long time that several people use bots to accomplish certain tasks for them. I'm wondering, how do they work, and if it's possible that one could be used to update pages (i.e. updating the Complete Monster List whenever a new monster gets added/removed from a certain page).

MediaWiki patch

The way I plan to do it depends on the weapon. If a weapon is used by multiple jobs, I'll link the equipment page to the respective weapon page. If a weapon is used by one job, it will stay on that page. I'm not sure what to do about common shields, though. I might separate each shield by job type, but I'll do it tomorrow. And thanks. Mass Effect 3.

Hello.

I have to say at this point, I'm going to have a mammoth task in trying to turn this "nothing" guide into something (in simple terms). I currently have a Wii U, a Prima Guide of this game and a Wii U version of this game. The reason I'm typing to you because me alone isn't going to work too well. But I'll keep going since it's just the beginning. If you (or anyone else) can help me with this guide, I'll be happy to put as much effort as I can since I can't risk pictures that has watermarks on it.

If you don't mind, can you link me to the Wii U button template since I haven't done the controls yet. Lastly, it's already on the "Collaberation of the month". Sign up if you want. I won't force you.

Monster Template

Is there a way to change the monster template so that it displays Fixed Damage (when a monster always takes a specific amount of damage, no more, no less) under the Monster Info section, but only if listed in the template? I mean, there's no reason to add it to the template unless we add it as an optional parameter, but it is easier to add/edit in the details section. Who knows, maybe there will be a monster with two types of fixed damage at some point. Theme dungeons

Well, that could work, but you could make it 30-60 for 2nd, 60-100 for 3rd, and 100-200 for 4th, since those are the proper job advancement ranges.
We could also focus on organizing them by town, though.

Alright, fair enough. Also, how come you changed several bumps to the Phantom skill page? Several of the skills' level data aren't lined up properly (e.g. Phantom Swiftness and Impeccable Memory I), at least from my perspective with the dolphin theme.

We could probably do the single column layout, even though I also like the 2 column layout. It probably wouldn't be a good idea, since most of us voted on the 2-column one.
I have decided that the Active Hyper skills will be in the singular column layout, however. Most of them have too many variables to fit on 2 per column.

With regards to my latest edits for Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures/Passwords:

The reason why I moved the Genesis passwords to the right side is because I think the SNES version (with a 16-bit remake of NES Ms. Pac-Man) may well have been developed first, and the Genesis version (with the new Pac-Jr.) came later; I did not know that when it comes to multiple systems, they have to be displayed alphabetically. i'm numbers and not letters so i can't create a page :(

i feel that renaming the image to 'famicom' is in error in some way, for a few reasons: we should be using 'family computer' if anything, but really we should be treating 'family computer' as a default, because that's the original (correct) name of the system above all others... any 'north american-' or 'european-only' game is still a 'family computer' game. in any event, it doesn't make sense to cordon off non-japanese releases as 'nes' games when it's all the same platform.

i'm also curious as to why the italic marks for the game's title were removed... i assume it's a strategy wiki standard to not do that? the thing is, from what i understand, it's a standard of english itself that the names of works (and things like newspapers) are to be italicized in print.

Yes means that section is completely converted to the new format and updated with RED, No is obvious, and Partial means that some skills are, but not all. I'm using it for RAP's new format as well, and which skills have/haven't been converted. Speaking of which, do you know what happened to RAP? By the new format, I mean the new skill template that he designed and we ended up using, like this:

Yeah, I'm back now from school; it's break time. I will be resuming the assistance for helping convert the old tables to the new tables soon, around this Thursday or Friday. Welcome back! I designed this template for which jobs are complete. Magicians, Bowmen, Thieves, and Pirates still need some work, because that big revamp I mentioned a few months ago happened recently. The link to the changes can be found here as a reference.
