Watch as someone sets a car to run off a cliff on a rainy night in a cutscene. The next day the captain will put you on the case, which is right across the road.

Crash Site[edit]

At the scene Officer Gonzales will inform you that the two women in the car weren't killed and the driver, an actress named June Ballard, is accusing a movie producer of trying to kill them. Head down the path on the side to get to the crashed car where you can talk to the coroner and take a look around.

When you leave the girl's room, you'll see June Ballard leaving with her lawyer. Her quick release is suspicious, so you'll follow her. Try to keep her car in sight, but don't get too close. Use the red icon on the minimap when she turns corners to keep track of her position. You'll also want to avoid using your siren or driving awkwardly. Eventually she'll get out at a diner to make a phone call and you'll need to get inside and have a listen without being seen. Don't bother with getting cover, just walk right in and sit down at the empty booth with a newspaper on the table on the left. You'll be incognito while you have the paper in front of you and you can hear Ballard's side of the conversation, and she'll say where Mark Bishop is staying.

Bishop's Apartment[edit]

On the way to the apartment you'll hear a call over the radio that something is happening there, and if you get there quick enough you'll burst in on two men roughing up Mrs. Bishop and tearing the place up. If you got there quickly you'll fight the two men and they'll be arrested. Otherwise you'll have just missed them, but either way doesn't really affect the investigation. Take a look around while Mrs. Bishop gathers herself.

Just when you think you're finished, Roy Earle from Vice will show up and tell you that Hopgood is an informant of his and you have to drop your inquiries with him. When you get outside, you'll find two of McAfee's goons waiting to warn you off of trying to find Bishop. You'll have some words with them and when you get in your car they'll open fire. You can drive away and then run them off the road or you can get out and fight right there. If you do stay and fight, be careful because another car will pull up with two more guys. After taking them out either way, head to the movie set.

'Jungle Drums' Set[edit]

You'll see Mark Bishop as soon as you get there, so chase after him when he runs. He leads you on a long chase to the top of the movie set, and you can't slow down because at times the wooden walkway will give out underneath you. As long as you keep him sight, you should be fine. After climbing up a ladder and going around a corner you'll come to a part where you have to go to the left instead of the following Bishop, or you'll fall down when the boards he runs over break. Eventually you'll chase him down, but as soon as you do, McAfee's men show up and you'll now need to protect Bishop long enough to get him into custody. He knows a way down, so keep following him, but stop periodically to take out the bad guys in each new section. When you get a chance, pick up one of their high-powered rifles, which you'll need to take out some snipers and which is generally more useful during the fight.

As soon as you get down the first ladder, find some cover and take out the first guy. As you're running past him, pick up his rifle, which is better for this gunfight. Down one level you'll be pinned down by two shooters. They're hiding behind explosive red barrels, so shoot the those to take them out. After jumping down a level, take out another shooter then get some cover and use the rifle to take out the guys all the way across the set. After the two over there, there's another one up on the very top, then two more pop out ahead of you the way you're trying to go. You can take the top one out by shooting the barrels next to him. Keep moving and slide down the long ladder to the bottom, where your partner will meet you and tell you backup has arrived.

Complete all cases on the Traffic desk.

Slide down another ladder and follow them out to another gunfight. Look up at the shooter on the right and you'll see he's standing in front of a bunch of barrels. Shoot them to send a huge pillar crashing down on all the bad guys, taking them out in one go. Keep following your partner and take out the two shooters in the next section, one right in front of you and one up above in the distance. When you finally get out the bottom of the set you can join the cops in taking out the rest of the bad guys. When all is said and done, you get a promotion to a new desk—Homicide.
