Despite its official description, the Arachne behaves more like an improved version of the Adamant class than a frontline battlestar. The Arachne is equipped with a fast-firing missile slot, a solid suite of guns, and a single hangar slot. The hangar slot is rather sub-par, however, with a Squad Evasion stat of 8.
