Like most Mario Kart games, items come from question mark boxes that line courses and are scattered about battle stages.  When touched, a roulette will appear in the inventory slot if it's not already occupied by an item.  After ending you will end up with an item you can use to help take on other players.

Characters[edit]

For more details on this topic, see Characters.

Characters do two things: they define your weight class and specify what special attack you'll be able to use.

Karts[edit]

For more details on this topic, see Karts.

Karts determine the various statistics of your racing ability; for example the maximum speed you can reach and how well you can accelerate.

All karts are classified by weight, so depending on the weight class of your chosen characters you'll get to see what karts are available for use.

Items[edit]

For more details on this topic, see Items.

Like most Mario Kart games, items come from question mark boxes that line courses and are scattered about battle stages. When touched, a roulette will appear in the inventory slot if it's not already occupied by an item. After ending you will end up with an item you can use to help take on other players.

There is one special item for each character.

Battle mode[edit]

For more details on this topic, see Battle mode.

There are three battle modes:

  1. Balloon Battle
  2. Shine Thief
  3. Bob-omb Blast
