Akuma, who was never in the film, was featured in Street Fighter: The Movie because he was a great character according to game designer Alan Noon. He was almost not included for fears that Akuma wasn't widely know as of yet. Not only did he appear in the arcade but also in Capcom's console remake Street Fighter: Real Battle On Film as a hidden character.

No information other that the arcade version ending is given on Akuma's story. Akuma is played by Ernie Reyes Sr.

Story

Akuma plans to rid the world of Shen Long (Gouken) and all that he stood for. He had defeated Ryu and Ken and has ancient powers at his control.
