Guile serves as the main character in the live action movie and the resulting video games. Like his video game counterpart, Guile sought vengeance against Bison and was in the armed forces. However in the film and these games, his full name is William F. Guile, his rank is colonel instead of lieutenant and he's in the army instead the air force. Also this version of Guile does not seem to be married as he and Chun-Li seem to plan a date near the end of the movie.

Like the other Street Fighter II characters that were put into the arcade version, he was given many new moves. One of such moves was of Guile using Handcuffs, which is a reference to the glitch Guile had in the original Street Fighter II. In the movie and games, Guile was played by Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Story

Col. William F. Guile is also in command of the A.N. (Allied Nations) forces that fight against General Bison, the dictator in control of the country Shadowoo. When Bison kidnaps sixty hostages, including A.N. soldier Carlos Blanka (Guile's friend, Charlie) holding them for ransom, Guile plans to attack Bison by sea, while he sent, con men Ryu and Ken to spy on Bison's operation from the inside.

In the end, Guile defeated a superpwered Bison, but was unable to convince an now mutated Blanka to escape with him. Afterwards, Guile said he needed a vacation. In the arcade version, Guile reigns from the A.N. to look for Blanka. In the console version, Guile is sent to other "international hot spots" across the globe by the A.N.
