Sven is a melee strength hero who can play the role of support and initiator as well as a semi-carry, due to his ability to have a high damage output without depending on items. His Storm Hammer is a decent disable that can affect several enemies at once, while his Warcry is a great support skill. He also has a built-in Battle Fury with his Great Cleave. Finally, Sven's ultimate, God's Strength, let's him do a humongous amount of time for the period it's active, potentially letting him match the damage output of a carry.

Storm Hammer

Storm Hammer is a targeted projectile that stuns the targeted unit and enemies in a small area around it. An excellent disable, it is capable of stunning multiple enemies with a single strike, making it a decent initiation tool. It's not advisable to use it for harassment though, as during the laning stages you don't have a large enough mana pool to use it liberally.

Great Cleave

  • Ability: Passive
  • Radius: 200
  • Cleave Damage: 30% / 40% / 50% / 60%

Great Cleave makes Sven's attack deal cleave damage to units near the enemy he's attacking. Cleave damage is not affected by armor. Basically, it's like having a Battle Fury with a smaller radius but one that deals more cleave damage. Not very useful if you are a support but it does help you farm if you are playing as a semi-carry.

Warcry

  • Ability: No Target
  • Bonus Armor: 3 / 6 / 9 / 12
  • Bonus Speed: 12%
  • Radius: 700
  • Mana Cost: 25
  • Cooldown: 36 / 30 / 24 / 18

Warcry grants bonus armor and movement speed to all allies near you for 8 seconds. A very good buff that lets your team initiate a teamfight while holding the upper hand. Its mana cost is quite cheap, and you can sometimes cast it just to use the bonus effects to tank and escape a bad situation.

God's Strength

  • Ability: No target
  • Bonus Damage: 100% / 140% / 180%
  • Mana Cost: 100 / 150 / 200
  • Cooldown: 80

God's Strength greatly increases Sven's damage for 25 seconds. A very, very powerful buff that can let you match the damage output of a hard carry. You'll be doing more than twice you normal damage, and with your great strength and agility gain, you can temporarily play the role of a carry as you tear through enemy heroes.
