- Directional Pad: Move your characters, make selections
- A Button: Accept, talk to people, access the status menu
- B Button: Cancel, run, text scroll faster
- Start: Pauses the game, opens the game menu (Save, Sleep, Settings)
- Select: Opens the status menu (Psynergy, Djinn, Items, and Status)
- L-Button/R-Button: These buttons are used for psynergy shortcuts (in towns, dungeons, etc.). On the World Map, the L-Button zooms the camera out, letting you see more of the map, and the R-Button shows the entire World Map and marks the towns, any landmarks, your position, and your boat's position.
