Unlike in previous games, the Elite Four in Unova can be fought in any order. For the sake of this guide, we will be going from left to right.
==Shauntal==
The leftmost room is home to Shauntal, a writer, and a trainer of Ghost-type Pokemon. (Would we call her a ghostwriter?) Before you fight her, she will talk about the previous person who battled her, who was N. Then you can begin the fight.
* '''Elite Four Shauntal'''
** Cofagrigus (Lv. 48, Ghost) Psychic, Will-O-Wisp, Shadow Ball, Grass Knot
** Jellicent (Lv. 48, Water/Ghost) Shadow Ball, Surf, Energy Ball, Brine
** Golurk (Lv. 48, Ground/Ghost) Curse, Brick Break, Earthquake, Shadow Punch
** Chandelure (Lv. 50, Ghost/Fire) Fire Blast, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Payback
Shauntal's opener, Cofagrigus, is a defensively oriented 'mon with low speed, which can be your key to defeating it. Jellicent is also good at defense, and can be hard to take down, but exploiting one of its weakness, particularly Dark-types, which it has nothing to defend itself against.
Next comes Golurk, who is slow and can only deal physical damage. A Water-type move is useful here, as is a Pokemon with high defense.
And finally, Chandelure is also weak to Water, so you can use this to your advantage.
==Grimsley==
Your next opponent is Grimsley, who uses Dark-type Pokemon.
* '''Elite Four Grimsley'''
** Scrafty (Lv. 48, Dark/Fighting) Sand-Attack, Crunch, Poison Jab, Brick Break
** Krookodile (Lv. 48, Ground/Dark) Crunch, Dragon Claw, Foul Play, Earthquake
** Liepard (Lv. 48, Dark) Fake Out, Attract, Aerial Ace, Night Slash
** Bisharp (Lv. 50, Dark/Steel) X-Scissor, Night Slash, Metal Claw, Aerial Ace
All of Grimsley's Pokemon are weak to Fighting-type attacks, in particular Bisharp which takes four times the damage. You can also use a Bug-type Pokemon, however both will be threatened by Liepard and Bisharp, who both know Aerial Ace. If you have Emboar, there is an additional threat in the form of Krookodile and its Earthquake. And finally, consider using a female Pokemon on Liepard to avoid Attract.
==Caitlin==
After this comes the third Elite Four member, Caitlin, who also appeared in the Battle Frontier in HeartGold/SoulSilver. She uses Psychic-type Pokemon, and is sleeping when you first enter her room.
* '''Elite Four Caitlin'''
** Reuniclus (Lv. 48, Psychic) Energy Ball, Thunder, Focus Blast, Psychic
** Sigilyph (Lv. 48, Psychic/Flying) Air Slash, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, Psychic
** Musharna (Lv. 48, Psychic) Shadow Ball, Psychic, Charge Beam, Reflect
** Gothitelle (Lv. 50, Psychic) Calm Mind, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Shadow Ball
All Caitlin's Pokemon share the move Psychic, and are prepared with significant type coverage, Sigilyph in particular. A Dark-type Pokemon is the obvious choice, but is threatened by Reuniclus's Focus Blast. A Ghost-type could also have some power, but watch out for super-effective Shadow Ball. Bug-types will do 2x damage on everything except Sigilyph.
==Marshal==
Your final opponent in the Elite Four is Marshal, who uses Fighting-type Pokemon.
* '''Elite Four Marshal'''
** Throh (Lv. 48, Fighting) Stone Edge, Payback, Bulldoze, Storm Throw
** Sawk (Lv. 48, Fighting) Stone Edge, Karate Chop, Grass Knot, Retaliate
** Conkeldurr (Lv. 48, Fighting) Stone Edge, Hammer Arm, Retaliate, Grass Knot
** Mienshao (Lv. 50, Fighting) U-turn, Jump Kick, Rock Slide, Retaliate
Marshal is arguably the hardest of the Elite Four in Unova. As is to be expected, his Pokemon are all pure Fighting-type, and physically oriented. They also cover types well: a Flying-type can be met with Rock attacks from all four, and Psychic-types can get knocked over by Mienshao's U-turn. TM40 (Aerial Ace) is your best friend here, many Pokemon can learn it, and it does good damage.

Revision as of 02:12, 4 July 2017

The Pokemon League in the Unova region is located here, in the region's far north at the end of Victory Road.

The League has a central plaza, with a Pokemon Centre outside it. It is recommended you stock up on items before, as you will not be able to leave the plaza once you have entered.

Your Pokemon should probably be at least level 55 to have a chance, and for items, you should have some Full Restores and Hyper Potions, as well as the two Max Revives you got after defeating Cheren.

Unlike in previous games, the Elite Four in Unova can be fought in any order. For the sake of this guide, we will be going from left to right.

Shauntal

The leftmost room is home to Shauntal, a writer, and a trainer of Ghost-type Pokemon. (Would we call her a ghostwriter?) Before you fight her, she will talk about the previous person who battled her, who was N. Then you can begin the fight.
